Well why don't we have a dedicated thread on here, a sticky one, for questions/suggestions for the club.
Someone at the club can be asked to read it occasionally and maybe respond, DonsNews perhaps.
Weighman could perhaps enquire.
I can't be d sending e-mails to the club, they will have other things to bother with.
At least it would all be in one place and chronological to be read whenever they have a minute.
At least we would all get to know rather than individually.
Replies could be by pm for sensitive stuff.

How is it they only charge £1 for the same car park at the Keepmoat Sunday car boot sale?
Maybe it would be a good idea to arrive as late as possible at the car boot sale & park your car for a £1 & then go & sit in your seat in the stadium or have a drink in the bar.

A dedicated sticky thread for suggestions to the club would be a good idea.

If we all approach the club individually we could be duplicating ideas although I know Carl and Jackie do their best to reply.

I think that between us, and with some reasoned discussions along the way, we'll be able to come up with some decent suggestions.

Funnily enough, when going on Dons buses to away games in the past, they've wanted to charge me for car boot parking! Although on explaining they allowed me to park for nothing.

With all matters financial, I suppose the club have to weigh up how much they get from parking fees and how much they lose from people not attending matches because of them, although I'd hope a modicum of fair play may also come into the equation.

With most people having to get two buses to get to the stadium, you'd have thought the club would be sympathetic to our cause, although I seem to recall the initial idea when the stadium was built was that only cars with three or more occupants would be allowed to park. This was based on a [igreen[/i idea if I remember rightly.

Having read some of the question & answer threads on other club sites I feel the E Mail approach is the best bet.

I was walking about work today and saw at least 3 poster for the Knights up coming matches around the place.......considering two of the current Don's first team squad work in the same building as me you'd have thought the club would have something up (To be fair Stu's corridor/classroom area is very heavily covered in RL material).

Before anyone suggests I put them up I just don't get the time or opportunity to do it, It's rare I escape the confines of the classroom.

Car parking is expensive and most places charge £2.

Why do we have to have 2 staff collecting car parking money, surely one person can take money and give you a ticket.

I also think that season ticket holders should get parking for free or either a £1 on showing the season ticket.

I thought that DM came up with a good idea car parking and programme for £3, i would have thought that if the parking was more reasonable then more people would park in the car park.

keighley will be a tough game against a side that will fancy being in the 9 at the end of the season. Defence will need to be strong again.

The reason why I think it's better to have a discussion on here before forwarding ideas to the club is that a collective discussion with a consensus of views in favour of something may help the club to see the merit in something.

People on here often make good points that I had overlooked when thinking of something potentially half-decent. Several heads are better than one, and I think putting ideas to the club is a positive and constructive thing we can do well as a group.

Fans have had chances to meet as a group & discuss ideas at trust & supporters club meetings.But it was the same (few) faces that turned up . We also had chance at a meet the new owners evening which was quite well attended.

We need some new young dynamic supporter or supporters to set up a group not such as myself who have done their best in the past and to some extent failed in setting up a successful supporters group .

If we set up a sensible, and I mean sensible, thread will someone at the club/Rovers read it and pass the concerns/praise on to the decision makers and then report back?

Some positive and constructive post as to how we can move forward in trying to build our fan base, I agree this can only be achieved by working with the powers that be. The greater the home support should increase the away following which as dwindled at an alarming rate, even though our average gate was up last year, which either suggest that it was the away following at the keepmoat the bolstered the numbers or the new found support haven't the desire to travel yet. Does the fact the fall in travelling support suggest that there are supportes who have stopped going altogether and we have indeed attracted new support who have started by attending home games initially?

I don't believe that results on the pitch have influenced our support to a great degree as our average hasn't changed greatly during the last few seasons when we have experienced Highs and lows, and indeed it's the league in which we compete determines the attendence through the travelling support they bring, which after Sunday leads me to believe we are probably the worst supported team away which is a far cry from a few years ago.

I think using this forum to help understand reasons why some fans don't attend any or more games is only a good thing, and if we can liaise with a club representative about any concerns or ideas that can add real value to a game day experience should benefit us all.

I believe we have a club to be proud of, and hope more people share that view, if so the dream of super league could be a reality.

I have made the thread sticky (and removed the sticky preseason thread). As for what people want to discuss, as long as its related to the Dons it's suitable for here!
