I can understand what Jemmo's saying.. Good to honor the amateur team that we're playing against, give them a good day out and hopefully some cash too, their players and supporters will be made up coming to the Keepmoat .. Sadly me and my other half wont be there though, my son plays Rugby on a Saturday, so we will be going to watch him instead.. But we will have one eye on Moorends hopefully beating Crigglestone and the other one on the Dons.. Good luck lads

Yes It's our Alex .. It's a big game for Moorends this weekend, it could determine who wins the Pennine first division between Moorends, Crigglestone and Bank Top Harriers, all good teams.. Good job I dont have false nails or they would all be bitten of lol .. Still be thinking of the Dons on Saturday though x

| Match Preview
Doncaster RLFC face Pennine ARL outfit Sharlston Rovers this Saturday in the third round of the Carnegie Challenge Cup at the Keepmoat Stadium (3pm kick-off).
Dons' head coach Tony Miller says he is fully aware of the threat posed by Sharlston Rovers and in particular their former professional Craig Miles. Miles is a former Dons and Dewsbury player and is one of a number of links between the two clubs.
"I went to watch them at the weekend, and I know they've been consistently one of the best amateur teams for the last four or five years," Miller said.
"They've got a big pack, Craig Miles can be a real handful on his day, and I've coached a couple of the other guys as well.
"I'm expecting them to come with a lot of enthusiasm and take the game to us.
"It won't be an easy game and we need to play smart, because they have consistently proved that they are a good side. We'll be treating them with respect."
Miller will check on injuries to Dean Colton (groin), Paul Cooke (Achilles) and dual registration Kieran Hyde (groin) before finalising his eighteen man squad.
Dons' hooker Mike Emmett had a spell with Sharlston in recent years before re-joining the professional game and Sharlston assistant coach Jon Waddle and Mile were also both members of the Dewsbury side beaten by the amateur club in this round of the Challenge Cup in 2004.
Sharlston are expected to travel well to the Keepmoat to support their team which will no doubt spice up the atmosphere and head coach Gordy Long is confident of a cup upset.
"We think they'll be as nervous as we'll be," he said.
"I've had a chat with Mike Emmett and he's not looking forward to playing us. He knows how good we are.
"We're really looking forward to it; we'll be giving it our best shot. We've got nothing to lose and if we go out there and play well then there's nothing more I can ask of the players."
Long has confirmed that Brian Sutton will be back in the squad after missing last weekend's defeat at Drighlington, while Tom Wandless (dead leg) and Scott Glassell (elbow) are both expected to be fit after sustaining respective knocks.
Ticket prices for the cup clash are as follows:
Adults - £10
Concessions - £5
Children (5-16) - £2
Under 5's go free
To purchase tickets please call the stadium's ticket office on 01302 762576.
*Please note your 2012 season ticket is NOT valid for the Challenge Cup this year and there is no early bird discount

| Watched quite a few of their games on U Tube and I think it will be a tough game, very similar to the Queens match where they were really up for it.

'Summat wrong with his foot' is achilles trouble according to reports. Bad hand, bad foot ... what next?
As for the game tomorrow, does anyone else think that this is looking like it's going tits up preparation-wise?
Sharlston must be salivating!
I think the wheels are coming off all round personally.
Players lost are not replaced.
Players that come in don't appear.
All very depressing and familiar.
I've flipped from optimism to pessimism.
Some of the recent Superleague acquisitions are ordinary to say the least.
I hope I am proved wrong and that there actually is a cohesive plan.
Yes I know it's early days.
Let's have some kiwis and a bit of flair please!

| Out of our squad any of the 17 who get the nod should be more than capable of winning the game thats no dis respect to sharlston who are a very good amatuer team but we have a sqaud who train 3 times a week and should be a cut above the amatuer game thats why we pick them. Im expecting a good spirited performance from sharlston but fitness and quality in right areas to pay off for us 38 12

| Final score Dons 57 Sharlston 10
Lee Waterman equalled try scoring record of 6 trys, Hodson 2 , hyde 2 & Sanderson 1.
Game marred by a brawl at the end . Dons had Dean O'Loughlin sent off for fighting plus no 10 for Sharlston who I thought was their best player.
The referee & touch judge had previousely missed an off the ball incident when Sharlston no 9 attacked Craig Fawcett to the head. Guess what no9 tackled Grant Edwards to the head & that lead to the brawl.
A good display by the Dons , shame Dean got involved , he can expect a ban .

| I thought we played well.
Waterman is proving to be one our best players and will break the try scoring record if he stays fit.
We seemed to have a bit more zip today without Cooke.
Perhaps he needs to step up to the plate.

i was going to post on here how well sharlston played, but not now they let themselves and the club down after the debacle at the end edwards understandably took exception to yhe head tackle and they all dived in bruno sorry deano tried to protect his teamate from getting duffed up and laid two or three of there players out before falling backwards and i am sure i saw a boot aimed in his direction whilst on the ground we gunna miss him as i think he and castle are he best two props we have had in many a long year must give a mention to lee watermen he was really up for it today, same with butterfield who was up there with lee, i too thought there number 10 was their best player till the lsat minute

| to be fair , i thought we set off like a house on fire. and overwhelmed them .shame about the messy ending, if they had put as much effort into their game as they did trying to get to deano at the end. then it may have been a bit closer. thought kes n wats went well, lets hope for a nice tasty draw . coyd
