reading some super league forums theres afew players which look like theyve been released or havent found club other close season

well it wouldn't be anti-climax if we signed him it would be the second coming. Perhaps its Tony Kemp.

Luke Gale

After the season he's just had i can't see it being Luke.

I was thinking of his halfback partner during the promotion season of 2008, but will just have to wait and see if it happens

I've thought about Briggs and Gale, both very good players.
But the way their careers have developed since leaving the Dons, I just don't think they have kicked on (more like knocked on).
They would be great for the Dons, but would we really need an extraordinary meeting to sign one of these two?
Answer: probably yes.
I was thinking we might get someone more famous.

How about Stanley Gene, he has played super league and is still young enough for five year deal with us, i know that would make him nearly 31 when his contract finishes but you never know.

Sean Long is now the number 2 at salford,Sam Obst has signed for Keighley,and Cooke has been mentioned in Hull about playing again after a year out.

Could playing for us be considered a year out?
He would certainly be the man to bring the team together when on his best form.Would get my support.

If it is PC, has he not had some 'off field problems' in the past?
A quality player no doubt, but we are told we have excellent team spirit at the moment, it would be ok as long as there is no rocking of the boat.
However this is all still speculation.

PC is a player in the Holroyd mold, so he would be good at moving us around the park. We need a general.
He's 30 years old now.
I thought last time I saw him play however that his best rugby days were well behind him. He had gotten rather slow.

I think he's about 31. Probably could do a decent job outside of SL.
