| Keep an eye out for Pimpernell. It's a porter and brewed in Baradford so you might see it on draught on your side of the hill. Very nice pint too.

| Idle Dog. No, I'm not resorting to abuse. That was most definitely the beer of the weekend. Done a lot of walking this weekend and ended up at the White Hart at West Stockwith. The only way I can describe it is Abbott with more flavour ( apologies to S-O et al ). The Idle Sod came a close second in the taste stakes. Would that I had not been driving.
Today's ales at the Bluecoat in Rotherham included Spire Sovereign, Oldershaw's Isaac's Gold, Everard's Hazy Daze ( a very pleasant wheat beer), Black Hole's Super Nova ( a nice golden IPA ) and Thornbridge Kipling, an excellent pale golden bitter.
Bliss!

| Went on a walk in Derbyshire on Sunday.
The party ended up at The Devonshire Arms in Pilsbury, where we had a street barbecue. The ale was a local brew by Peak Ales. One was called Silk of Amnesia (nicked from Milk of Magnesia) at 4.7%
It went down well after the walk.
Some of the barbecue.

Had a pint of Idle Dog in the Blacksmiths Arms, Everton at the weekend. Very nice too.

Anythything by Robinson's is worth a go. They're a Manchester brewery which, along with JW Lees has become the premier brewers of that fine city since Boddington's left the place and decide that the future was in 'smoothflow' rubbish.

Didn't see you in the Gatehouse Gary..mind you I left at 7:15 pm.
Had a few pints of Lorimer's Cask Lager (Caledonian Brewery-Edinburgh) at 4.5%. Very nice.
Picked up a leaflet on the bar which invited people to join CAMRA for £20 and get £20 worth of Wetherspoon vouchers for 50p off real ale pints.
That's free then...to all bearded, pot-bellied types.

| Paid a visit to Hickleton Village Club at the weekend. No less than 6 real ales available including the very nice Monkmans Slaughter 6.0% (Cropton Brewery) - a strong dark malty brew.

About time too! A bit expensive, but the best real ale haunt in the area for my money.
Visited the Arkwright Arms yesterday, in deepest darkest Duckmanton. This was fortunate because they had seven Thornbridge beers on, allowing me to sample Jay Wick, a very nice American pale ale, and Hopshock , which despite its title, has a nice malty flavour. I also sampled the all-natural Moravka Czech-style lager ; a bit fizzy but tasty.
If you're of the cider persuasion, there were no less than 11 on plus 4 perries.
A small plug, if you please.

There's some nice American beer about lately. High Sierra Stout is a good one, and Brooklyn Brown Ale is also nice.

It might surprise you to know that I haven't a clue what you're talking about, given how many times I've contributed to this thread!
You really ought to try it Karlos. There's a real ale out there to suit every mis-guided lager drinker
