| Quote ="Stand-Offish"Was thinking about Gary and Scott who used to sit in there to watch games.
And I would go up there at half time and have a pint and a word.
But now it's £25 a season or £5 a game depending if you have a season ticket.
Really!
The Dons deserve to fail...'"
As I said to you when we bumped in to each other in the Gatehouse (a couple of months ago) and I likened it to when I retired, I genuinely miss some of the people but not the rest of what comes with following the Dons.

I won't speak for Scott but it's extremely unlikely I will ever buy a season ticket again.
I did take in one game last season and may do the same again this season but I don't see anything currently which will make me change the decision made during the 2021 season.

| Wish I was strong willed...the number of times I have said enough is enough, then still continued to go.
But it is usually because I think we aren't good enough...
Lately it has been the management that is disappointing me and the Rover's control over the Dons.
Last chance saloon for them this season...I am partly weaned off the Dons anyway, so it won't take much.
I don't go to away games anymore and what with holidays and the caravan, I only watch about half a dozen games a season.

| I think many are the same SO both my Dad and I now watch from afar, the lack of a compelling reason to watch, falling out with the sport in general, working on call and it being usually the only day I get to spend with the missus all feed in to my apathy towards coughing up to attend games.

| Sadly us 'long term fans' are not the target market, 1. Sponsors/investors 2. New fans 3. Older fans. We have come to terms with that nobody is held accountable for years of failure so if they can generate new fans they can milk and promise them everything knowing that they will have a few more years breathing space until they feel letdown! Eat, sleep, repeat for club disaster

| I haven't bought a newspaper for years so not sure if anything was in them, but other than the internet and press I'm not sure what other options there are, particularly for a friendly. TV and radio are never interested
Is the sign on Bentley road updated? It had season ticket info on last time I saw it

| Cant see what the issue is with regards to the bolt on's to the season ticket.
If you dont want to go to the bar then you have the option of paying the £60 fee which is by far and away the cheapest season ticket in the game.
If you do then pay the additional £25.
The club could have quiet easily said season tickets £85 across the board but have given people the option given the current financial situation.

To be honest that’s how I’d seen it, if season tickets were £80 they’d still be the cheapest. But people have the option to save some money and not have it. Same as the car park. For me it’s a saving
The problem I think is with those who don’t get a season ticket, and the way it was announced

We only have 9 home games and there's a few i know that due to work commitments or holidays can only make 4 or 5 of those, would you say paying £85 is sensible for them?

If season tickets we're free they still would be overpriced based on the last 6 seasons! I do like the concept of the season ticket idea but the bolt ons e is terrible, you seem surprised that some folk work weekends so can only get to half the games myself included do you think £20 a game in the bottom division constitutes value?

We are talking the odd pound here or there per game to get access , its an easy choice either pay it or don't go in the bar and walk across to Beefeater for a half of beer.

| Season Tickets are extremely cheap. At 60 quid, the cost per game is £6.66. I don't think that can be what puts people off. Personally, I would rather the ticket cost £100 if the extra income was going to be used to improve the team and get us out of this league.
My issues with the restaurant charge is whether the entry cost will actually increase revenue streams or reduce them. I assume the club has done its homework and feels they will get more money coming in with the charge. Secondly, the 'cost per game charge' has been kept quiet until now. It should have been announced when season tickets went on sale.
There is clearly a lot of underlying bad feeling towards to club from 'lost fans' who feel disenfranchised. For various reasons, the club and the sport have not been able to keep everybody on board. This saddens me as it would be great if we could all be part of the same family as we crave success for the Dons.
Club Doncaster has not been able to unite the fans. Promises not being met (five year plan), an apparent lack of ambition/poor decision-making (unable to get out of the bottom league) and poor communications between the club and fans are all part of the problem (where are the minutes of the meetings between the fans' representatives and the club?).

I've just re-read my post listing my reasons for making the 2021 season my last (posted in August 2021) and sadly, I can't see that anything has changed which would entice me back.
On the pitch ... the Club continues to miss opportunity after opportunity to get out of League One (despite historical public statements about where the Club should be by now).
Off the pitch ... The disconnect between 'the Club' and supporters has clearly not been resolved nor has the incredibly poor communications.
The Advisory Group which replaced the Fans Panel is now 2 supporters (as opposed to the previous 10 or so) along with 6 Club 'representatives'. People may draw their own conclusions as to why such a numerical swing to the supporters being just 25% of regular attendees.
I said at the time that I hoped that the Club and it's CEO would get to grips with supporter-raised issues and concerns but so far it would seem sadly not to be the case.

My time on the Fans Panel ended at the same time as Wanderer. Does anyone know the reasons why there are now only two supporters on the Advisory Group? Do we know who they are?
Has the post of Supporters Liaison Officer (SLO) been scrapped? Barry Brown and Carol Green were previous holders of the post. Barry used to do an excellent job. Carol had ill health. I've not seen her at any matches for a while.

| The new groups are without doubt handpicked nodders and happy clappers who are sent out to tell us realists that all is well and we shouldn't question authority, how can any supporter of the dons not see we're a stagnant, poorly run club who have resisded in the bottom division for 6 years and not want to do anything about it? Instead we have foot soldiers handing out flowers dancing outside the keepmoat shouting hari khrisna everything is brilliant! (I might have made that last bit up)

| There are some supporters who are more favoured by the club (IMHO) in terms of having an inside view on this all of these seem to be part of the "happy clappers" club....Its pointless to post anything negative on the Facebook side now as there are to many who will decry anything that doesn't match the positive view and it usually decends into personal attacks and questioning peoples validity to have an opinion - Hence the rule change here and there.
Every single person who posts on either site is entitled to their opinion, you don't have to like it or agree with it but they should have the freedom to say what they want especially when its well within the rules of sites.

| It's a very weird set up akin to some kind of cult, just happy to give over their hard earned cash, accept 6 years of broken promises and spread the message of positivity from above! Only when you have accepted this challenge are you awarded the superfan status.

| I went to some of the supporters advisory meetings when they were online, my experience of them was there was a lot of people there who never spoke. It was just the same 2 or 3 that made objections or questioned things every time so those are the ones that are still going. I struggle to attend them now they are back as face to face (I already spend a disproportionate amount of my time filling in the social media short falls of the club, something which I and the members on the group have raised several times). I have seen the members who go now constantly questioning and disagreeing with things the club do (most noticeably; player updates, merchandise, social media, club/supporter interaction), they also ask every question that is put to them to ask by supporters. They can't however force the club to agree with them (the player update thing for example has been raised so many times, it's obviously a fight they can't win) or report back anything other than the answer given or there'd be no point in asking. All the notes from the supporters questions are posted now, again the official club minutes are their domain and after trying to get them posted in a more timely seemed to be going nowhere it was decided to post the question answers more more quickly.
Essentially it's advisory, they have to pick their battles, and they do, (as I do when I get chance to have a chat with Carl etc) but there is no guarantee any of them can be won. If it got to a stage where everything was knocked back then there would be no point in it existing at all, but then we'd lose our only connection at all. It's not at that stage.
On the specifics of the restaurant thing, I can't remember it even being raise before it was announced.

| Similarities with club doncaster and the Conservative party then, it's plain to see where things are going wrong but once you question them fingers go in the ears and they go la la la.

Thanks for update, Jemmo.
The is similar to the issues I found when I was part of the group. Decisions are made by the club [ubefore[/u consulting the fans. The change of shirt colour was a classic example. The consultation should come before a decision is made, not after it.
The fans in the group are then expected to go out and sell what the club have decided even though they might not have been part of the process in deciding it and may not agree with it.

| Some good points of view raised on this topic. not that it will matter to the club. The decision to capitalise on the Exec bar area has been made and I suspect that the decision will remain. The proof of this seasons pudding will be the statement regarding automatic promotion and if at all that is achievable.
If not then the comfort factor at the top of the club will still remain IMO and that gents is unforgiveable.

| The statement will be like the last 6 years statements of promotion. If my company gives me a target of getting 15,000 packages made and shipped for the year and i don't hit that I'm down the road just like anybody else would be so my repeated argument is how on earth is nobody made accountable for 6 whole seasons? We have a coach that is entering his 5th season who has added nothing and also failed season in season out, which other club operates like this? The club is run so poorly and absolutely reeks of a old boys act.

| Regarding the upcoming season....
Logically, the players we kept from last season will be slightly better for playing together and hopefully, based on the second half of last season, will be very competitive.
But let's look at the side subjectively now....with apologies to other players who are very good, we have only 3 stand out players..Tali, Boas and Johnston. The rest are good players.
Our recruitment has been uninspired and lazy and hindbound by lack of money.
Those players coming in played their best rugby many years ago and serve to make the side older and slower, albeit adding significantly to experience.
Now Dewsbury and Workington will have had to recruit and cut their cloth accordingly with relegation so will take time to get to their best and will be hard to assess, except to say relegated sides usually compete well.
So there will be Dewsbury, Workington, North Wales, Hunslet, Oldham, Rochdale and us in the mix.
7 clubs...and our side having not too much special about them.
Obviously we will have to wait and see where we are at but It is gonna be another hard graft.
The first home game against Hunslet and the cup game against Oldham will reveal all....
