| Four more festival ales sampled last night, again in the Gatehouse;
Brouwerij 'T IJ Amsterdam Blonde 5.5%, a golden but Strong Ale from Holland brewed at Banks Brewery.
Devils Backbone Bravo Four Point 4.0%, another Golden Ale but more citrus-flavoured. This US ale is brewed for the festival at Caledonian Brewery.
Timothy Taylor Boltmaker 4.0%, an always enjoyable malty Best Bitter.
Marston's Revisionist Irish Peated Ale 4.3%, referred to as a Speciality Ale, this red ale was full of malt and smoked flavours.

Boltmaker when well kept is a superb pint. I do envy your taste of the 'dark' stuff. for me its a 'marmite' thing. However Mrs M does share your dark malt side taste.

Shepherd Neame Hog Island APA 4.8%, an American Pale Ale, golden and citrus flavoured.
Titanic Plum Porter 4.9%, this Porter is an old favourite.
Williams Black 4.2%, a sweet Mild with coffee, chocolate and liquorice flavours.
Angel;
Thunder Road Pacific 4.4%, an Australian Golden Ale brewed at Adnams Brewery.
O'Haras JDW Irish Red 4.5%, a lovely Best Bitter with Caramel and Coffee flavours brewed at Everards Brewery.
12 so far including 4 of the 5 International ales.

Greene King Benjamin's 5.0%, referred to as a Speciality Ale, this is a sweet tasting ruby coloured ale.
Adnams Explorer 4.3%, a citrus-flavoured Golden Ale.
The Looking Glass, Warrington;
Daleside Spring Rye 4.8%, another referred to as a Speciality Ale, this is golden in colour and fruity in flavour.
Salopian Darwin's Origin 4.3%, a copper-coloured Best Bitter, nice and malty.

The Rawson Spring - Dark Star Revelation 5.7%, a Strong Ale, golden in colour with malt and fruit in the taste.
Sheffield;
Bankers Draft - Robinsons Trooper 666 6.6%, a Strong Ale version of the Iron Maiden brew, deep golden and a mixture of malt, hop and citrus flavours.
Sheffield Waterworks - Pheasantry Best Bitter 3.8%, a familiar favourite in local Wetherspoons and very nice it is too.
The Benjamin Huntsman -
Lancaster Admiral Archer 4.2%, a fruity Golden Ale.
Mauldons White Adder 5.3%, a Strong Ale, golden and fruity.
Wharfebank Crimson Rambler 4.8%, a malty ruby coloured Premium Bitter - very nice indeed.
Hanlons Port Stout 4.8%, a Stout packed with Chocolate malts and flavoured with Ruby Port - also very enjoyable.

Oakham St Bibiana 4.5%, this Best Bitter was a late 'festival' replacement for an RCH brew which was unavailable as a result of a fire at the brewery.

The Regal, Cambridge;
Inveralmond Amber Bead 4.1%, a Speciality Honey Ale and the best of the three over the weekend.

| The three legs beer festival takes place at the doncaster brewery l, corner pin and white swan Friday to Sunday.
Look out for the doncaster brewery charter at 5.5% its a dark ale which goes down too well... very nice.

Hook Norton Crafty Fox in the Swim Inn (already previously sampled as part of the JDW festival) and Fuggle Bunny Jammy Dodger 4.5% a delicious ruby red ale with liquorice, blackcurrant and caramel flavours.

Waterworks, Sheffield - Batemans Dark Lord 4.4%, this brown-coloured Best Bitter, slightly nutty in flavour is another winner from the Lincs brewery.
Bankers Draft, Sheffield - Long Man Session IPA 3.8%, a gold-coloured Bitter, very citrusy.
Bluecoat, Rotherham - Nottingham Trentsman 4.7%, a deep golden Premium Bitter, smoother than the Long Man brew.
