| Cheers SO, very agreeable evening throughout. It will be interesting when Sue puts the barrel of Jaipur on that she has in the cellar. I will contact the Sal and find out. May get a sniff of it this time and not let Gary finish half a barrel on one night. The Marstons EPA was a worthy substitute but just edged out (flavour wise) IMO by The Old Empire IPA that they make.

| went into the corner pin after last nights game and stayed there till it shut at 1, so much for a quick pint on way home!!. a couple of superb dark ales on in there at the minute, including one from a whitby brewery.
Went to beer festival in clifford last weekend, and had a georgous pint, Saltaire Triple Chocoholic. The landlord says he is hoping to have this on in the pin in about2 or 3 weeks time.

| how many dons fans are members of Camra?. I am a member of Lagrad (which is a subsidiary of camra) camra (campaign for real ale) and lagrad (lesbian and gay real ale drinkers).
Just wondering if we could have a subsidiary group for Dons Real Ale Drinkers. The membership could be a couple of quid extra to the camra membership. And what could the initials be for the group?
whats people think, maybe then if we had a group we might be able to put pressure on the keepmoat to provide real ale. at the previous home game to last night, i spoke to one of the bar managers and he said it had been thought of, but they would need to guarantee they can shift a barrell when they put it on, as it would not keep until the next game. so get asking for it, and we may get a barrell on

| Missed the EPA in the Sal yesterday (you guys must have had the lot) .
However, did have a virgin pint of Stonehenge's Danish Dynamite 5.0% and a couple of pints of Milestone Lionheart 4.4% (excellent beer pity about the name ) .
The Yorkshire Grey is still taking the edge off its Best Bitter by serving it in plastic 'glasses'.

| I do find it odd that they think anyone in a pub when that overated product called football is on would want to use the proper glass as some lethal weapon. Is it based on the fact that most sporting events pour plastic beer into a plastic glass. I cannot remember a time that I have supped real ale out of anything that is plastic and God forbid it should ever happen.

| Had a couple of pints of the very palatable Kelham Island Best Bitter 3.8% in the Sal yesterday evening.
Couldn't resist a pint of Yorkshire Grey Best later.

| The enjoyable part of yesterday (the bit in York rather than at the Huntington Stadium) ...
Visited what is fast becoming my favourite pub in York again yesterday, the Pivni World Freehouse. Thornbridge Lord Marples absolutely spot on and Kelham Islands It's Not Dark Yet 4.5% very nice (a new one to me).
York Brewery Constantine in their Last Drop Inn and the very reliable Rudgate Ruby Mild in the Blue Bell.
Later ... Celt Experience Brewery Golden 4.2% in Harkers (S-O would have enjoyed this I reckon) and Black Country Fireside Bitter 5.0% in the Maltings. Again both of these new to me.
As I was in the mood for trying something different I finished the evening with a pint of Liefmans Belgian Fruit Beer 4.2% - Very enjoyable but I could only drink it in moderation.

| The Boat Inn (Sprotborough) had Leeds Best Bitter & Adnams Broadside available this evening - enjoyed both.
Dropped into The Mallard en-route back ... they still have Black Sheep Best Bitter on.

| Saturday evening ...
The Red Lion had Ossett Brewery's very nice Treacle Stout 5.0% available.
The Sal seems to have predominently golden guest beers at the moment but they did have Wentworth Imperial Ale 3.8% which is more of a light brown coloured ale.
Yorkshire Grey BB obligatory
Batemans XXXB in the Old Angel - always a winner.
Evening concluded with Acorn Old Moor Porter in the Gatehouse.

| Was in East Yorkshire at the weekend. Went to the Wolds Village at Bainton and had a very nice if expensive pint of Wold Top Wold Gold, thence to the Pipe and Glass at South Dalton where I sampled Wold Top Bitter and Cropton Endeavour, both quite flavoursome despite being low on gravity.

Wold Top Wold Gold?
I wonder if Jonathon Ross ever ordered a pint of that?

| Sunday after the match ...
Harviestoun Schiehallion 4.8% ... Lager beer in the Sal (did say they'd got a number of golden ones. )
Repeats from the previous evening of Yorkshire Grey BB and Batemans XXXB ... then a pint of Abbot in the Gatehouse (it's generally available but a while since I sampled it).

| Today it's been Bays Gold and Caledonian Nectar at the George and Dragon, Mexborough, both worth a second visit and Milestone Cool Amber which was tasty but disappointingly went flat early doors, at the Old Market Hall., Mexborough.

| The Beverley Inn had a very nice ale on yesterday ... The Whole Hop Brewerys McMullen AK 3.7% ... not a strong beer but one that manages to get the malts and hops to compliment each other to provide a very drinkable bitter. Recommended.

| Spent yesterday at the Great Yorkshire Show and visited the Theakston and Black Sheep beer 'tents'.
Theakstons had available Best Bitter, Traditional Mild, XB and Old Peculiar ... sampled all bar the Mild.
Black Sheep had (in their marquee), Golden Sheep, Best Bitter, Black Sheep Ale and Riggwelter. Passed on the Golden Sheep and the Best Bitter.
For anyone who hasn't been (and I hadn't before) it is well worth a trip to the show.
to Theakstons, who although only serving half pints, were simply asking for donations (suggestion £1) with all proceeds to The Cure Parkinsons Trust.

| Called into the CORNER PIN on the way home from work tonight. And i had a pint of SALTAIRE TRIPLE CHOCOLATE ALE.
Absolutely georgous, my dad wasnt convinced until he had a sip of mine, and he ordered a pint. They have had it on since Sunday so should imagine it will run out in next day or so, so suggest you try and get down. really really recommend this ale.

| Got back Saturday evening from a week on the South Coast. So last week, I was mostly drinking Harveys (Lewes Brewery). Best Bitter, Armada Ale and Dark Mild to name but three.
Visited (as you would expect) a number of pubs during the week at places such as Amberley, Arundel, Bognor Regis, Brighton, Chichester, Eastbourne, Lewes and Worthing (we were based at the latter).
Highlights of the week ...
Courage Directors in both JDW's in Worthing.
Olde Trip in the Dewdrop Inn in Eastbourne and the Warwick in Worthing.
Shepherd Neame Kents Best in the Ship in the Meads area of Eastbourne (pub recommended if in the area).
George Gale HSB in the Eastgate Inn in Chichester (another pub to recommend).
Otter Ale in the Alex at Bognor Regis (this pub has over a thousand mugs and pots on hooks hanging from the ceiling ).
Brains Rev James in the Battle of Trafalgar at Brighton.
Brew Dog 5am Saint in the Evening Star at Brighton (pub recommended, birthplace of the Dark Star brewery).
