No course not, perhaps reasonably wasa bad word choice, i fail to see how we can be bulling up the Dons bemoaning that not enough people are coming to watch this fantastic rugby, and they are not getting the press they deserve, then after one defeat, a bad one yes, they are suddenly an unfit side. Attitude may have been wrong, as was suggested by someone in an earlier post, and i agree that they sometimes lose concentration, but could it be something as simple as we were beaten by a better team on the day

Totally agree with you newdon. Everybody knew that the cumbrian away games would be the most difficult ones. Workington are a very good side and the home advantage obviously added to confidence. With regards to fitness i dont think that played any part in losing the match. We were just well beaten by a better side on the day. When cowling went off there wasnt another sub to be brought on. That cant have made the task any easier. Hope danny gets well soon!

For fans that were there, it was not the defeat that bothered us it was they way the team got defeated. We were not in the game for 60 minutes and that is not good enough.

I have to agree with rugbyman. I wouldn't have minded if we lost and got a bonus point. Instead of just driving the ball in, trying to get repeat ball, and possession which would have meant we were controlling the game, we were trying to force passes, and this gifted the ball to Workington. This just gave Workington more and more momentum. With each attack they got more and more confident and their pack just steamrolled us.

Modern Rugby League is all about momentum. It is why we have been able to score 40 points over the last 8 games previously.

This is the third time now where when the game started going away from us, the heads dropped off and we ended up with a hiding. Barrow and Bradford were the same. Because we were loosing some player(s) could not be bothered. That is the worry, those player(s) who don't want to do the hard graft and are bothered all about the "me".

On the plus side I think we have the fastest winger in the division. Tom Hodson's covering tackle on Calderwood was superb. Not many wingers have the speed to do that.

Especially when Calderwood had a start on him as well.

The surport some of you so called fans give the lads is not good enough.workys off loads yesterday all went to hand and they had the rub of the green,the ball jst didt bounce our way the effort and committment WAS there and the lads are hurting after the defeat.Leave judgement untill the end of season and accept we wont win every game.The lads dont take losing ligthly either.

I take it you went to the game yesterday then??? the so called fans(as you put us) maybe would not have travelled for 7 hours and SUPPORTED our team and who will be travelling to North Wales next week. So your ' SO CALLED FANS' comment is in my opinion is pathetic
They got more of the rub of the green because they were offloading in tackles when our defence was not good enough to do the man on man tackles, we were slower at the play of the ball.
The reason why us so called fans comment is because of our love for the club and not to watch the team fade away and be steamrolled by another team in our division.
As mentioned earlier it was not the defeat that bothered the fans, it was the way we were defeated.

Try traveling to Cumbria with high expectations and watch the shoite that's been dished up.
Fair play the Cumbrian clubs are decent sides and we were never going to have an easy ride. No supporter expected that.
I for one thought we would lose all the Cumbrian games, but I did expect us to compete.
Competing can be defined as being near or achieving a bonus point in defeat.
We expect that from a side at the top of the table.

Rugbyman if the cap fits wear it yes i was at the game and will be next week we got beat by a better team on the day who had better luck with there off loading than us but effort and committment was there from the players if you can do any better get a pair of boots on and show us otherwise lay off the lads and try giving them a bit more surrport instead of slating them

He has a compound fracture of what? A leg, an arm?

For 19 minutes, we were in the game. We scored 3 very good tries, and once Workington started scoring, it appeared from my point of view that some players heads dropped. As a result of that, efforts seemed to drop, and Workington exploited the gaps that were left.

I can understand what you're saying, but I can understand the frustrations of the fans.

I dont know which game you were watching but we didnt score 45 unanswered points (missing several kicks and being held up over the line 3 times, with 2 more disallowed) by the rub of the green. To say that is very disingenuous, you were well beaten on the day and I can understand why some of your fellow fans are questioning certain players commitment because once we went ahead quite a few of your players just seemed to give up.

Two defeats in Cumbria (heavy I grant you) does not define the sodding season. It puts Barrow and Workington on joint pole position and they deserve to be there cos they have beaten us. Good few games to go and they will come to the Keepmoat expecting to get at the very least a bonus point. If as Newdon says the players are hurting then all we ask is to carry that hurt into the replays and give it back to em. Workington and Barrow are obviously very good sides on their own turf, however we are not so bad ourselves at home. I am guilty of not supporting away from home like Rugbyman and DF and the rest of a very loyal and supportive bunch of people, so be careful calling folk when it is quite appararent Newdon you appear to know very little about this group of supporters.They have stuck with this club through bloody horrible times and and terrible uncertainty. We are in the best situation for years, the best rugby for years and when they get served up what they call lack of attitude they have every right to say so. Newdon I can tell you , this group of fans are unbelievable and have stuck with the club through thick and thin, they are also very knowledgeable and passionate about the game and their club, this entitles them to their opinion, even if you don't agree with it. Just wanted to put something on before the thread gets locked!

Everyone who has commented up to now has made valid points.The top and bottom of it was that Worky wanted it more. The key part of the match was after 20 mins when Whitehead and Thackery came on and it totally changed the game. Also what nobody else has commented on is that I thought Calderwood was superb.He was all over the pitch on the right wing one minute then running at the left side the next causing all sorts of problems.

As someone else has said it did look like we were blowing out of our ar$es for the last 30mins. Worky could have and should have scored well over the 50 mark if it wasnt for good goalline defence by some of our lads.

I was very disappointed at the end of the game and left as soon as the siren went.Its not like me as Im one of the regulars who stay until the team walk off but I didnt feel the lads deserved the clap off. Looking back I was wrong as I know the lads try their best and dont want to lose heavy.But it was the manner of the defeat which upset me as we seemed to just roll over and let Worky completely dominate down the middle.

Pick your heads up lads and lets get back to winning ways on Sunday.
