| Was thinking about Gary and Scott who used to sit in there to watch games.
And I would go up there at half time and have a pint and a word.
But now it's £25 a season or £5 a game depending if you have a season ticket.
Really!
The Dons deserve to fail...

| It was only a matter of time before this happened. There is no general access to this facility for the Rovers games, you have to pay as part of a package. Its a revenue stream issue but not one I applaud when it removes contact between fans and people from the club. I hope that they manage to speed up the service in the concourse food and drink department to compensate.

I doubt Gary and Scott are going to be won over to return to support the club given this.

Just been thinking...
Gary's forum name is Wanderer. He's a Bolton fan...
They've named the restaurant charge after him... they officially call it a bolt-on!

| Completely adds another barrier in terms of fans engagement, non season tickets holders will have to pay £20 in total for this experience which is ridiculous for the league we are in, the ground troops on fleecebook will point out it's a fantastic idea and anybody who doesn't acquire a season ticket deserves to be over charged.

| And how about the effect this has on away fans who may want to stay after the game for a drink/pie etc etc excludes them totally with a stupid upcharge.
The effect on returning and new supporters is not to be under estimated either they chance to catch up with old friends after a match but being upcharge to do so will just drive people to places where the club gains ZERO revenue from it.

| It's a silly, grubby, elitist idea that smacks of GB and his sustainability ethos and the directors putting NOTHING into Club Disaster of their own money bar short term cashflow loans.
Penny pinching that will be counterproductive but not productive
at the counter.
Well done Club Disaster.

Most people on there are against this too. This group are exactly the same as that group and choose to get angry about the minority that doesn't agree with them rather than seeing that majority aren't at the extremes and actually wanting to talk about stuff.
The difference is, a tiny amount of Facebook users get angry about the few they deem to be too negative; and the people on here get angry about the few they deem to be too positive.
Same moan, different angle

| Personally I think this is another example of the club being so disconnected from the fans. I also think it makes no financial sense and they will lose a lot of money

| Well if they think that the folk who would go up to the restaurant and don't want to pay will simply queue in the cold, dark concourse instead they are mistaken IMHO.
I will take my beer inside me to games and they can balls...

Correct Brian, the concourse is not so bad for the games in the summer when the temperature is something like but for most of the time its cold, unwelcoming and the queues are too daft to laugh at when you consider they serve up pish for beer and the food is shocking.
The disconnect with the club is growing ever wider, they can dress it up all they like but there is no way we are spending an extra tenner a game to watch the the club hierarchy stuff themselves with free snap and drink.

| They are on borrowed time...
The club either delivers or they are spiralling into the very antithesis of what they purport to aspire to.
I can only see mediocrity continuing.

We've had 7 grim seasons in the bottom division yet the fleecebookers jump on anyone who's negative! How can any fan who wants us to be the best we can accept this without a whimper? The 'at least we have a club' spiel doesn't wash with me, we have an hardcore group who would rather blame rightly negative fans than seek or want change from a terrible bunch of people at the top of club disaster! If you accept mediocrity you will get mediocrity.

| This does leave a bad taste in the mouth sadly - this comment its purely driving to upsell the "restaurant" package especially for those with young un's who'd like to meet the players. Did they learn nothing from the End of Year awards affair.
"Post-game the players and coaching staff from both teams will be in attendance mingling with supporters. The player of the match and sponsor presentations will also take place in the Restaurant approximately 30 minutes after the final whistle. "
I could almost understand the upcharge if we'd significantly invested in some top quality players, but we ain't we've dragged some out of retirement and signed a trouble maker - we've signed 2nd row forwards an area we were always well covered in, not really added any forward beef, and our backs and halves look very thin on the ground.
I am awaiting the "per sheet" pricing for bog roll next!

Again, it's a few that do that, you're generalising everyone on there by the actions of the minority. Same as how this board is generalised the other way round. Either way it's now an argument about who has a right to have what opinion, which is being stamped down on on Facebook

As I said to you when we bumped in to each other in the Gatehouse (a couple of months ago) and I likened it to when I retired, I genuinely miss some of the people but not the rest of what comes with following the Dons.

I won't speak for Scott but it's extremely unlikely I will ever buy a season ticket again.
I did take in one game last season and may do the same again this season but I don't see anything currently which will make me change the decision made during the 2021 season.

| Wish I was strong willed...the number of times I have said enough is enough, then still continued to go.
But it is usually because I think we aren't good enough...
Lately it has been the management that is disappointing me and the Rover's control over the Dons.
Last chance saloon for them this season...I am partly weaned off the Dons anyway, so it won't take much.
I don't go to away games anymore and what with holidays and the caravan, I only watch about half a dozen games a season.

| I think many are the same SO both my Dad and I now watch from afar, the lack of a compelling reason to watch, falling out with the sport in general, working on call and it being usually the only day I get to spend with the missus all feed in to my apathy towards coughing up to attend games.

| Sadly us 'long term fans' are not the target market, 1. Sponsors/investors 2. New fans 3. Older fans. We have come to terms with that nobody is held accountable for years of failure so if they can generate new fans they can milk and promise them everything knowing that they will have a few more years breathing space until they feel letdown! Eat, sleep, repeat for club disaster

| I haven't bought a newspaper for years so not sure if anything was in them, but other than the internet and press I'm not sure what other options there are, particularly for a friendly. TV and radio are never interested
Is the sign on Bentley road updated? It had season ticket info on last time I saw it

| Cant see what the issue is with regards to the bolt on's to the season ticket.
If you dont want to go to the bar then you have the option of paying the £60 fee which is by far and away the cheapest season ticket in the game.
If you do then pay the additional £25.
The club could have quiet easily said season tickets £85 across the board but have given people the option given the current financial situation.
