There seems to be a story gathering momentum about a club breaching the rules regarding Dual Registration and the number of required games to play after the deadline, people are suggesting Batley for fielding Fairbank at Sheffield last weekend.

On the Hull site suggesting the Dons also , Ben Crooks had only played twice before the 25th July 2014.
Someone ( not in an official capacity ) told me they only had to be in the squad for a match to count !

Yeah, I think that covers non-playing subs, though. Not players who don't make the XVII.

Whoops! This could get messy,could it not. Are the dual reg rules the same as last season when we had Wakey players,if so it's hard to comprehend that this is an error on our part. If this is a typical RL rule change then NASA would struggle with the complexity of it.

 Dual Registered Players who have a Salary Cap Value of £20,000 or more i.e. those who receive a category A, B, C or D classification, must have played in at least three League or League Cup fixtures for the Championships club that season before the end of season registration deadline which applies in that Competition in order to play in games which fall after that deadline whether they be regular season or Play Off games.

Well he had only played in 2 games so it must be something to do with his salary.

The £20k bit is there because if they're getting paid less than that, chances are they are a young un-established player so can still play

Ben Crooks, I'd imagine is a £60-80k kind of player and had only played two games so would break that rule...again I'd imagine

Well, it was debated only last week that he didn't qualify to play (Crookes, yet he appeared.
So the club must have been aware you'd assume.
If we get clobbered, I can only assume it is a conspiracy by the Seagulls to do down three of their main rivals ... I have to blame someone.
It can't be the Dons fault ... they'd be thickos right?

The fact that three clubs are involved suggests to me that the RFL actually read the team sheets the club hands in and have instigated the action themselves.

my point is there is the rule for DR players.Im suprised clubs are not aware of this, this has been am on going discussion on out forum and others for most of july as the deadline approached.We have 2 players hand and forster who have played for us all season who can play after the deadline, but were were suprised on sunday when Adam swift was in the rochdale team the first time he has played for them this season, we would have though if he was eligable to play we would have seen him up at haven like last season

I've heard on the grape vine that the powers-that-be made an error in communication to the clubs last week which may have resulted in some confusion over who was eligible to play for them.

Meanwhile, I'm also hearing that a club located not so far from yourselves may be in deeper do-do after fielding an overseas loan player for whom they did not have a valid work permit. Something or other to do with the players existing work permit being employer specific?

Mistakes do happen.

Lets hope that is correct about the mis communication . Just hope we can put this all behind us on Sunday !
