| Not sure what to read into York's hammering by Catalan Dragons today (92-icon_cool.gif.
Does that make it a good time to play the City Knights, confidence low and having travelled abroad or will they be smarting and have a point to prove?

| Im sure they'll be looking to bounce back, but if we can get a couple of early scores they may very well roll over.

Don't read anything into it mate, 3 debutants, 2 trialists and 7 under 20s played against Catalan, it'll be a completely different team this weekend hopefully!
Looking forward to a great game against my second favourite team.

| If you fancy making your away day a little fancier this weekend, tickets to the Knights Northern Rail Cup 1st knockout round game at home to Doncaster on 19th May are on sale now. Supporters can either get their regular match ticket or a special match-day offer of just £25 (£20 for concessions) for a main stand match ticket with a pre-match meal, match day magazine and access to the sponsors’ lounge both before and after the game. Places are limited so please book from Roland Court or by calling 01904 767404 as soon as possible!
Season tickets do not count for cup games. Adult admission will be the usual match-day prices of £14 (plus £2 for seating), £10 concessions and just £3 for under 16s. Bar 13 will also be open as usual.

| Wheels, i know Yorks priority is the league, but if what you say is correct , and i don't doubt it, it makes a mockery of the challenge cup competition , and York should be fined for fielding an understrength team. just my opinion.

| Not sure that York have a big enough squad to leave people out of games through choice! Think injuries forced them to bring in others! Also considering a lot of the team probably have full time jobs and travelling to Catalan may not have been possible.

| Fair point Dons11 , but so many changes?, in a time when crowds are dwindling , you would have thought teams would at least make an effort. People want to see their teams at least give it a go, yes the result was probably always going to go against them, but as a player surely you would want to play in that kind of fixture. otherwise why bother.

| The RFL will only pay for a squad of 19 players to go to France, so Gary Thornton couldn't take anyone who wasn't 100% ready to play.
Added to the fact 2 of our players couldn't get passports sorted in time which didn't help!
Every single Knights fan that went said that they were really proud of the boys efforts and that it was a fantastic weekend.

| Match Preview
Doncaster Rugby League Club return to action this weekend and face York City Knights in the knock out stages of the Northern Rail Cup. The game will be played at the Huntingdon Stadium and has a 3:00pm kick-off.
The Dons were without a game last weekend as the fifth round of the Tetley's Challenge Cup took centre stage but the Knights lost heavily at Catalan Dragons. The Northern Rail Cup has a new format this season, with the Championship clubs and two from Championship One (London Skolars and North Wales Crusaders) joining at the last 16 stage.
Doncaster head coach Tony Miller is hopeful that Carl Hughes could return to face his former club on Sunday. Miller said: "He came back too soon last time and missed another four or five weeks, and we didn't want to make that mistake again. He's doing all the training now."
The Dons have a full squad to pick from with the exception of Liam Cunningham (shoulder) and Grant Edwards who injured his neck at training this week.
Dual registrations Danny Cowling, Liam Kay and Kyle Trout of Wakefield are in line to make the short journey to York as the blue and gold's look to build on their last outing against Keighley.
Miller added: "We've just had a rare weekend off which gave us an opportunity to shake off a few bumps and bruises.
"Having last weekend off could help and hinder us - it's probably going to be a bit of both, really.
"We had a good win at home the week before, so I would have liked to have carried that on.
"York have proved to be a very up and down side so far this season, but we know both their strengths and their weaknesses.
"I've watched a few videos of them, so I know largely what to expect from our opponents and I've identified some areas that I think we can exploit."
Jack Lee (knee) is York's biggest doubt for the cup tie, although their head coach Gary Thornton will also check on a number of other players including Tom Carr who is also a doubt after a collision in training.
Sam Scott, James Ford, Nathan Freer, Adam Sullivan and Jack Latus all missed last week's cup clash against the Dragons. The Knights lost 92-8 in Perpignan, but Thornton insists there was plenty for his side to be positive about.
Thornton said: "If we played like that against Championship opponents in games we've lost, we could have won.
"The young lads took a lot from the whole weekend and it certainly benefited them.
"Hopefully we'll have a few bodies back this weekend though as Doncaster are a tough team, but we are at home and we would like to do well in this competition."
Match Day Admission:
Adults - £14 (plus £2 for seating)
Concessions - £10
Children (u16's) - £3
Referee:
R Laughton

Skybet ... Maximum bet on the Dons +8 = £27.50 Not taking much of a risk there are they
