Doncaster Rugby League Club make the short journey to South Leeds Stadium this weekend and will be hoping to get back to winning ways against Hunslet Hawks in round 5 of the Kingstone Press Championship (3pm kick-off).

The Dons fell to their second defeat of the season last Sunday against a strong Leigh side at Leigh Sports Village. Tony Miller's men gave a good account of themselves in the first forty and only trailed by 6 points at the break before going on to lose 34-8.

The final score line didn't dampen Miller's spirits and he was pleased with the Dons performance. Miller said: "The lads gave a good account of themselves and I don't think the score line was a fair reflection on how the game went.

"Leigh have got Super League quality throughout their side and I doubt many teams will win at their place this season. The lads gave their all last weekend and that's all I can ask of them.

"We've worked on the things that didn't go right for us at Leigh and have put them behind us.

"This week's game at Hunslet game is definitely a winnable one for us but we have to make sure we turn up on the day and compete."

The blue and gold's are set to welcome back full back Lee Waterman who missed the Leigh game. The club's record try scorer has shook off a shoulder injury but Chris Spurr will miss out once again and is also suffering from a shoulder injury.

Back row forward Mike Kelly is also set to make his return to the side after recovering from a whiplash injury and Liam Cunningham continues to make good progress from his respective shoulder injury.

Wakefield's dual registration signings Danny Cowling and Bobbie Goulding are included in the Dons squad but there's no Liam Kay (injured) or Kyle Trout who has been recalled by the Wildcats.

Hunslet head coach Barry Eaton believes a second win of the season is just around the corner - providing the Hawks keep hold of the ball.

Eaton's men have not won since a 42-12 victory over Barrow Raiders on the opening weekend of the Kingstone Press Championship season.

Last week they lost 36-18 at Featherstone Rovers, following other defeats against Leigh Centurions and Dewsbury Rams, but Eaton's faith remains undiminished.

Eaton said: "Although the score was against us at half time against Featherstone, we weren't banging our heads against the wall in disgust at our own performance.

"It's no coincidence that in our previous defeats, our completion rate had been a big downfall for us.

"On Sunday we played the best side in the competition, but we were able to make the right decisions in the second half because our completion rate was in the right area."

He added: "We're confident going into this game against Doncaster. The belief and mentality within the camp is pretty good.

"We're at home and confident, but we're also aware that Doncaster are a good side. They look like they're well and truly able to compete at this level."

The Hawks have added Leeds' giant forward Mitch Achurch to their dual registration list and is expected to make his debut for the Leeds based club. However, Hunslet will be without Captain David March, Waine Pryce, Luke Haigh and David Clayton due to their respective injuries.

tbh I'm glad Kay and Trout aren't playing as I rate Sanderson and Hughes higher and think its about time Hughes got some game time before he goes the way of Fran Welsh if he hasn't already.

Good news that Lee is playing, I assume James Clare will move to centre . Carl Hughes was 18th man last sunday so could be recalled this week.
