Waterman or Sanderson to replace Butts who is out for the season as is Fran Welsh.

At first I was going to say Sanderson but being at full back might stop Waterman dashing out of the line/getting on the wrong side of attackers and missing tackles.

The game of the season IMO and really looking forward to it. Just hope thats it as good as the Barrow game. COYD.

Might be worth trying Spur at Full back, he is quick he can tackle and he can take a high ball.

Waterman is awesome in centre so see no point in killing that. Cowling could then come into spurs position.

Stu is much better winger than full back. IMO

Whoever is at fullback it mustn't be Waterman, and I can't believe people are proposing or at least putting this possibility forward.
It is simply suicidal, on more than one level.

It will be great if some, or all, of our walking wounded return for this vital game. BUT unless they have kept themselves really fit, they will be a hindrance more than a help. Certainly useful in 20 minute bursts, but they will be jiggered after an hour.

But someone has got to step up, probably two. So I say pick the fittest.

I am not sure that Butts will be out for the rest of the season. Bones can heal in as little as 3 weeks, it depends on the severity of the injury and which part of the body. For example ... fingers 4-6 weeks typically.

I would find it surprising if waterman was at full back, but Tony Miller will I'm sure have thought it through by now,if Lee is in his eyes the best for the job,that's where he will play,personally I doubt it. This was always going to be a tough game even without the injuries,players coming back is a bonus,although as stand offish says , lack of game time could be a problem. I'm going to say Dons by 14

Cunningham & Cowling both played for their clubs U20's at the week end , Cowling scored a try.
TM hoping to have them both onboard this week according to the RL Express.

If grant Edwards is fit to return then IMO he could do the job at full back Safe pair of hands for the high balls tackles well above his weight and reads the game well.Lack of game time not so important at full back.

I do not think Grant will be picked at full back.

Doncaster Rugby League Club entertain second placed Workington Town this Thursday evening in what promises to be both a tough and exciting game of rugby league. This Co-operative Championship 1 game has a 7:30pm kick-off time at the Keepmoat Stadium.

The two teams last met just over a couple of months ago when the Dons raced in to a 18 point lead before Workington got a grip of the game and ran in 45 unanswered points. A Dons victory should see the club leapfrog Workington into second place with just four games remaining of the regular season.

Mick Butterfield (hand) and Fran Welsh (leg) join Tom Hodson (thumb) on the injury list after the recent victory over Barrow. However, the Dons are hopeful that Craig Lawton, Grant Edwards, Liam Cunningham and Danny Cowling will compete for a place in Tony Miller's 18 man squad and Dean O'Loughlin will also be in contention after missing the Barrow game.

Dons head coach Miller said: "We've lost both Mick and Fran unfortunately but we've gained a few welcome additions to the squad so there's healthy competition within the ranks.

"Workington are a top side and they played very well against us back in May. They have a strong squad to pick from and are a team who defend very well as their record shows.

"However, we're playing at the Keepmoat, where the wide pitch suits our style of play, and the lads will be looking to continue our excellent home form and will be doing their best to get the three points on offer that'll go some way towards promotion."

Victory for Workington would see them become the second Cumbrian team to secure promotion to the Co-operative Championship.

But they will have to earn their points without Darren Rooney and Jonathan Dawes, who could both be facing a number of weeks on the sidelines.

Town head coach Gary Charlton said: "It's been a long time coming if we achieve promotion, and it's testament to the board as well as the players and coaches.

"The boys know it's going to be a tough game; it always is against Doncaster.

"We know the challenge ahead. Doncaster are a very good team, and I'm good mates with Tony Miller and Carl Hall, so I'm sure we'll have some banter however the game goes."

A Workington supporter has claimed on facebook that 2000 Workington supporters are coming tonight. Very much doubt that as there were only 500 supporters at a home game. So a 3 1/2 trip on Thursday night really does not suggest this level of support.

In any case we really need to be loud and proud Dons supporters tonight. Lets hope that there is a strong turnout.

However I don't want to see lots of red and white stripes. I want to see the Blue and Gold.

I can't see that many from Workington coming on a week night either - any with work on a Friday morning I'd say definitely wouldn't be there.
