Quote ="olddon"like i said thatto played with spirit and no little skill and great credit to them for that,as we did not play to our true potential and with key players missing it was understandable, and the penalty was awarded for foul and abusive language this happens in super league, and both championship 1& 2 accept defeat sportingly as we did against siddal last year when we were completly.'"
I completely accept the defeat, Docaster deserved the win. Foul and abusive language to the ref is rightly penalised at all levels, but I was just asking if anyone had seen a penalty before for what is essential a bit of banter between two hard players (this was confirmed by the referee and the match commissioner as the reason for the penalty after the game). I've no doubt that it's covered somewhere in the rule book regarding ungentalmanly conduct but rugby league would not be a spectacle if a penalty was given everytime the players swore at each other!
