The is sour grapes. We ploughed massive amounts of cash into the clubs infrastructure last year and now we're reaping the rewards. Sometimes I wonder whether you support widnes at all. Rich would never be this bitter.

with all due respect starbug that is complete ass gravey. we actually had a similair turnover last year, but after laying out for what is now widely regarded as the best academy system in the country, paying of a large chunk of the previous administrations debts, and investing a huge amount in new seating and shiney big plasma screens all over the stadium, we made a loss last year. without any of those outlays this year, and with increased sponsorship these numbers are perfectly reasonable. oh and it also helps to have bought shares in the club many years ago and still be rather kindly receiving annual financial breakdowns from the current owners, even tho my shares are long since null and void. so yes, i have seen the numbers, Unlike you. not our fault your lot have orgasms just imagining figures like ours!

So many sour grapes over this announcement we could supply the world's MacDonalds with vinegar for the next century. God knows they need it.

Well done Widnes..Thats a great turnover and I hope it is right. If it is I think SL is yours.

However if you look at your average attendance of 2884 per game, that leaves alot of money found from other avenues.
2884 x £15 (assuming all adult) = £43,260.00

Based on 13 home games...
£43,260.00 x 13 = £562,380.00

With a turnover of £2,500,000.00
£2,500,000.00 - £562,380.00 = £1,937,620.00 to raise outwith of ticket sales.....quite a tall order even for a SL team.

Good luck with your bid and even if the estimates are not that accurate i'm sure you have a good sound profit and will be at the forefront for SL.

More like £10 per person through the turnstiles accounting for kids and VAT which makes the revenue through fans down to around 400 K , so over 2 million from sponsors , merchandise and lottery

If they sold 10,000 replicas on the back of the NRC final they'd clear another 200 K at £ 20 each , but doubt they would have shifted more than half that , so say 100 K in merchandise

Realistically Widnes on gates of 3,000 will pull in around 1.2/3 per year , to double that they would have needed to make the Challenge cup final and ave 7/8,000 attendances

I,m not pulling anything apart , what has been reported is most likely what is in the books , not a problem , well done , over two years to basically break even in today's economic climate is an excellent achievement especially in our ' nothing to play for league '

As for Leighs financial position , well given that we have a 1,000 less coming through the gates and we haven't made a final , let alone anything else like sponsorship , I doubt it would make good reading , or at least as good as yours

Must admit when I first received the text from ny brother in law I thought he must have got it wrong. However having a think about it I cant see why SOC would be so stupid to lie about the figures so they must be right. He wouldnt risk all the good work him and the team have put in since ho took over.

Like it or not, Widnes are now the benchmark for all clubs outside of SL andmost of the clubs in it.

Do you know how much each sponsor is paying into the club and merchandise sales?People who are stobart spotters could be buying Widnes shirts,cups, etc.We had a few Challenge cup games, and Nr cup final runners up, and gate receipts.Merchandise for rail final so it is difficult for you to judge.

Look believe what you want , it is great PR for Widnes , and some good news for RL in general , when at the moment things are not good if rumours are to be believed , I me sure Red Hall will be pleased for that

Last years loss was clearing debt and huge improvements to the stadium and youth set up, painted seats, players lounge area! No debts for the club whatsoever where as there where plenty when SO'C took over... Come on not hard is it!
