| Quote ="Chris Dalton"They've had the gall to moan about the referee on the fax site. How one eyed can you get? Complaining about a high shot from a widnes player. What about Coyle getting his head took off and nothing being done about it? '"
I didn't see that. To be honest i was only looking for the Widnes trangressions. I spat my chips out at every Widnes high shot and forward pass. I felt very deflated when Widnes came back to take the lead but was overjoyed at the final outcome. I'm looking forward to the 29th July

| First of all...congratulations to Batley and their fans.
Secondly... I wouldn't expect anything else from some other sets of fans...
They are getting ready to lose us to the higher echelons and are revelling while they can. Also it's a nice distraction
from their own woes.
As for the referee... he is a complete prat... how he gave interference in the build up to Batley's second try I will never know when the player threw the ball between his legs. Then missing another player trying to take Coyle's head off.
The guy is a shambles...
We cost ourselves the game but he is a prat nonetheless.
I think it's a bit unfair solely blaming Gardner Dalto. In the madcap last 20 minutes any one of a number of players dropped the ball.
As for today. Thank God for the Win last year. Can you imagine the feeling if we had lost today having lost that one as well.

Had you lost last year you'd have had a completely different squad this year. You'd have had a Championship winning squad.

| thought Hicks was ok, Consistent at least
After the Gerrard try it seemed Widnes minds were on lifting the trophy and not seeing out the last 15 mins
Credit to Batley they never gave in and showed why West Yorkshire is the home of RL!

| Well I watched it unbiased and I thought the refs bad decisions evened out.
Was very impressedwith one of your props (Ben Davies ?) and Thackery first half where did Thackery go after HT ?
I know you are gutted I always am when my team loses. Ah well if it is any consolation I lost a couple of quid at the bookies.
See you Sunday.

| We threw the game away ourselves. We have no excuse; the ref included. Loose carries and knock-ons killed us. Batley fought until the end – God bless ‘em!

| Personally I thought Smith should have stayed on when we were bossing the game in the early part of the second half. After he went off we went to pieces. But Batley deserved their win, they played the smarter. Regardless of the result, I'm positive today was a good one for our SL prospects...

I hope your team feels this way too VM, from a purely selfish point of view.
I must say I enjoyed the game today but everyone is right way too many spilled passes and dropped possession. Some of that credit has to go to Batley for the way they tackled and stifled Widnes. They did the same to Leigh in the semi. I expected more of Widnes to be honest.
It's hard losing in a final but at least you got there eh?... chins up and let the banter begin for next week.

I couldn't understand that either. Smith was scaring the heebeegeebies out of Batley with his runs from dummy half and he has to do this more because that was more like the old Mark Smith rather than the passer that I have been seeing over the last couple of seasons.
Handforth is the best halfback in our competitions. He is one smart cookie and can run a game while Gareth Moore isn't bad either.
I was embarrassed when it was announced that Thackeray got the Man-of-the-Match. I thought Handforth and Johnny Campbell were really good for Batley while as my fellow Leyther Frank mentioned Ben Davies was your best.

Not Bazza, Tezza, William and Eddie, they were totally gutted, in fact Tezza sounded like he may need some sort of help after the game. He could hardly speak. Eddies comment at HT about is this as good as it gets for Batley was a classic, like Batley had played their cup final and it was all down hill from here against the `mighty` Vikings.
Good game though, it had everything and the best team won. The neutrals will be happy.

| Aye but tbf Tezza is a Widnes lad and works for the club... maybe not the best idea to have him on the show afterwards really! Could see him with hands on head in SKY box after there last score... I think they stayed on for the rest of the game too!

Look at the BBC board last night looks like it was pretty much a party becuase Widnes had lost rather than a celebration of Batley's great achievements!
People saying Widnes are a joke of a club reliant on old SL players and loan signings (1 more lona played then Batley and old SL players? What Gannon?). Unreal it really is but that was the general consenus! All in all 3 loan players (both sides) played yet comments mainly foccused about the amount of loan players on show what the massive 8%???
Same people that said NRC didn't matter and no-one cared said Widnes should not even be conidered for SL as they couldn't win it against Batley
Some people on there are just unreal though! And the fact the BBC have taken down the Championship teams boards shows it all up for what it really is tbh!

| I find the whole thing very perplexing. What a headache for the RFL. Just who the hell are they going to kick out in 2012? Do they put Salford, Wakey and Cas into a hat? I think Wood and Lewis only have one option left....................

| Actually a celebrity octopus would be a far better controller of our great sport than Woods and Lewis.
Could you fit Woods or Lewis into a jar? Remains to be seen. Could Woods or Lewis unscrew a jar? Only to put in the ashes of our dead sport. Could Woods and Lewis emit ink in times of trouble? Imagine the extra revenues from Rymans if they could.
Gotta say I'm pro octopus here.
