The problem with Mark Smith is (as we've seen with Webster) he's playing in a pack which has struggled to dominate. So no matter how good a player you are you are never going to shine. I think anyone who cannot see this does not understand even the basics of the game.

He still tackles his heart out and never shirks his responsibility and anyone saying he's finished here needs to take a look at how loyal he has been to the club even when SL clubs came knocking. Mark Smith is a huge asset to us, whether he's been on top form this year or not.

I think a partnership between him and Duffers would work well.

Smith cant leave he's part of the furniture now, people forget that he's used to doing 80 minutes every week and this year he has suffered as already mentioned behind a beaten pack. Smithy god and Gleeson to lead the way for the Hookers next year. Duffman/Thacks and Webbo to lead the backs. Leafa/Korkidas/Gannon/Pickersgill to lead the front row.

What no Morrison?! Or is he pencilled in at 2nd row?

Which is where he should be, if we actually had some decent props.

Even though we (Leigh) beat you in our last game, during your dominant 1st 25 minutes you could see Smith's class. When Gannon went off you capitulated and Alstead's tries made all the difference. OK he's a right little $hit but that just adds to his game.

if you dont mind we will keep gleeson. you can keep smith. gleeson is a very key player for us and i would not be suprised if we are trying to tie him to a 2 year contract. i would expect we are having contract negotiations at fax.

he does know cullen from his warrington days but he could never get a game if he could he woujldnt be playing for us he would still be playing for them.
so the relationship cant be that good between them.

Not fact just opinion, which you're quit entitled too. However it's the way you put your opinion across which grates on people here. We're all for constructive criticism, if you don't like the way a player has performed then fair enough but if you're never going get a decent response with the way you put your message across.

Something is going on behind the scenes re Smiths form you don't become a bad player overnight.Lots of rumours and I would not be surprised to see him on his way,imagine Rowley as his Coach,that would be interesting.

I don't like Smith, he's from Wigan and plays for Widnes ,so no surprise their but I think he is a good player and I'm convinced he will become one again, sooner than later.

I don't think there's anything going on behind the scenes. Due to poor recruitment and injury, we have a very weak pack and Smith has had too much work to do, While also never being spelled.

We need to strengthen the pack and spell him more. That's all.







It would be funny to see him playing alongside Nanyn at Leigh in a few years time though.
