That is a big statement Rich and I think you will be way off the mark.
I thought Craven looked one of the best players on the pitch last night despite playing out of position. His tackle on Frank Whatshername was amazing. A star for the future. Out of the others Flynn will be with us in SL and I think Grady [imight[/i too. Not sure about Houghton. Not one of his better displays last night but he's done enough in the past for me to think he will be a good squad player and who knows if he keeps improving.
There are a set of lads currently in the 18's now that are set to be given first team numbers next year and we have some very very exciting prospects in there.

Next year they will be another year older and another year wiser.
I'm not saying that we will be a team completely dominated by players from these sides but the ball is rolling.

The young' uns need a full time environment to kick on more.

I wrote on the other site that I would love us to go with a small group of 10-12 young players on full time deals for next year and add in some decent part timers. I think we'd see the younger lads come on in leaps and bounds from that but I dare say the salary cap implications are unworkable.

Hard to tell with the younger guys as to who would make it because as ive put earlier they have so much more development in them and especially in a full time environment.

So long as they continue to develop which I think they have as the season has progressed then we can be quyite happy with that. We do have to be careful of ruining players though. Shane Grady had played every game upto the last two and it was starting to tell as he was knackered.

well he was nothing to do with it at the start, was he, untill he steamed in from distance. even then he coluldn't do it face to face. was a knob when he was here - see things haven't changed. as has been mentioned elsewhere, he bleated like hell for ages when haggy got him ealier in the season. what goes around comes around - and i suspect that he's gonna be in some more bother at red hall for his actions.

Another good game for us for Barlow, bin very good for us since signing.
Weird game really even at twelve down I couldn't see us struggling against a very poor widnes team. You just knew as soon as we completed our sets we would have far too much class and in the end we won it at a canter without really breaking a sweat.

That's a bit harsh, we beat a good and well motivated team last night.

Just think Widnes are punching below their weight at moment, they have a balance of physical and pace but just can't make their mark, shame for the Fans.

I think a lack of a decent scrumhalf has not helped.Branighan ran the show and kicked good field play all night.Effort is their i just think organisation and ideas is missing.

It's not that hard to work out really is it? Widnes have had their problems this season. Just when the forward line gets sorted our half backs are affected. We lost Webster through injury and Thackray misses the game with a knock.
If Halifax had played without Black and Brannighan then it would have been a Widnes win.

naaaa.. Penky and 'Bomber' Holroyd would have still made the difference, young Bowman as well could have been called upon.

The same Penky that all Fax fans were calling on to be moved from stand off last year and to be replaced with Govin....

That's the one. When Penky plays at scrum half he isn't that great. But he is still much better there than Coyle.

I agree their is alot better than Coyle at scrumhalf.His best postion is Hooker.Anyway lets hope we recruit better next year.
