I wouldn't say he's carried us but i'd go as far as to say he has been our best player the last couple of years imo with the help of good performances from a handful of others. He'll have no problem in finding a club but its just going to be sad seeing him leave, would have been one of the few id have taken SL exclusing the academy lads.

He has dug us out of a number of holes with his 'off the cuff' play but nobody seems able to build a decent partnership with him.That may be down to the other players and him constantly having different halfback partners or it may be his style of play.

The reality for me though is that we cant carry him. No kicking game, little creativity outside of his own plays and a reliance on the show and go. That is his main play and it has been stifled this year. He is far less effective against the top sides at this level. Leigh in particular as ive written previous always shut him out easily.

He's been a good servant and provided some exciting tries but I would have worried if he was in a SL halfback pairing. I expected him to go up with us because of what he had done and being a bit of a favourite. It hasnt been the case.

The proof will be in the pudding as they say. Where will he play next year ? If he gets a SL gig it will be interesting to see.

Just don't get it. Thacks is a genuine game breaker, I only hope somebody with an established pedigree comes into that position, say Benji Marshall... Maybe then I'd understand

Well I didn't see Thacks as a starting halfback for SL but I definately thought we'd keep him as utility backup for a number of positions.

Netherton, yes ok cya.
Ford, has been ok recently, but he's not a SL centre.
Gerrard is strong, hardworking and has potential, but I've not seen SL quality in him either, so ok i guess.

Announcing this now? why? We have plenty of other players with less quality than these 4, seems odd to single them out while the likes of Pickersgill are still walking this earth.

He has not played well this season and really there were calls for Danny Craven to play at Stand Off.

The timing of this is puzzling to say the least, Thursday is going to be interesting.I think we all knew that Netherton and Ford probably wouldn't come up but Thacks would have been a cert' and Gerrard still has potential IMO with youth on his side and full time training he could have been a useful squad member. Who will be next I wonder?

Also in the article it says that they wont be part of the first team so i'm just wondering if Gerrard will be in the reserves ???

Maybe we're going to see a bit more of the young lads to see how they go,but bringing D/Rs in isn't going to help their cause.

Well, they’ve finally lost the ing plot. This is a desperate move, by the coaching staff, to save their own hides by looking like they are doing something radical.

Whilst I can agree that most, if not all, of those players may not be up to SL standard, we still have a season in the Championship to go here. To sack them off completely is just plain stupid!

Fuck me, Cullen signed all of those players. He even let go Smithy for Netherton. I’m ing finished with this shower of e, I really am!

I now await a raft of Loan and dual-reg players. This seems to be the answer to everything to some at the club.

Do not let Paul Cullen build your team for SL. I have never been less impressed with a coach at any level.

P.S. You have Thackery to thank for being in SL, his three tries in the NR Semi against us won you the game. All solo efforts!
