I think it has since been deleted as I was compiling this reply. I was thinking of leaving it so was mulling it over and saw that they have removed the comment. I honestly don't know how to feel about this. If they've cheated, they stand to benefit at our expense, but they're only really cheating the rfl and I still don't think they're anywhere near us.

Another suggestion made was the fans were counted back in during a fire drill, essentially they attended the same match twice. I suspect it will all come out in the wash. If they have cheated, the RFL will certainly hold it against them more than not meeting the criteria in the first place.

The 2500 is laughable. Most relegated clubs in SL would struggle in non promotion league.

Crusaders and Harlequins can't get this now !!

I don't know why anyone's bothered. Leave them to it. We'll be fine. There's threads on here praising our youth set up. There's threads on there forum wanting to sign Sheffield's overseas full back. That's the difference between us. They are way behind us.

I would believe the attendance if was say 3000 but not nearly 5000.Batley only took about 1800 max to the Rail final and in a normal league game i can not see more than 200 travelling.Batley average less than 1500 for home games so no chance over 4000 fax fans.On another thread on the fax board they mention money troubles.

What was the attendance when we played the NRC Semi at the Shay last season?

3,900 i think with about 1,500 from Widnes

Widnes had circa 930 in the North Stand for that semi btw. Can't remember the official figure that was quoted.


I personally thought there was around 5,500 today and was suprised it was only a 'low' 4,795 announced. So i'll just have to believe what's quoted. I'm not one for rumours.

5,500? Come on now your just being silly! To get 5,500 would need at least 2,000 free tickets that i'd guess would know about before the game and all pics would show near enough full stadium! Double crowds don't just happen on the off!
