How crap are Toulouse in keeping hold of the ball.

Shocking game of rugby, Toulouse are awful with ball in hand.

Barrow are still a very strong side though and did well to dominate in the 2nd half but they look well off form. The heat can't have helped this evening, hopefully that game will have sapped a lot of energy from them in advance of next week.

Toulouse though were shocking ball in hand and both sides gave away plenty of daft mistakes and trying to force the pass.

I thought Rooney was excellent, and I'm glad he wont be up against us in the NRC final. That big Centre of theirs (Harrison) looks a handful as well.

Harrison was a one time target of ours but has been faithful to his club so good on him and as you say a real handful.

arguably one of the worst games shown on tv this season, barrow are shi'te and we will hammer them next sunday. it just shows how good we and halifax really are in this league.

Yes so crap they have already beaten us twice this year, played badly and still won shows they are a decent side.

they didn't beat us, we beat ourselves, especially the home league game where we couldn't string 2 passes together.

Thought both sides were poor. Toulouse out wide in defence, especially in the 2nd half were woeful reminded me of us under McCormack. Barrow constantly had a man over.

Convinced we will see a completley different Barrow next week. We have only just appeared to have turned the corner so will have to be at our best next week to win i'm sure. However if our forwards get in top of theirs like we did against Fev and at times againt Halifax then we will win, Its not going to be easy though.

Also the wide players seem to have handling issues. It would appear that whether its with ball in hand or off the boot, out wide is where to go.

Not really sure what you would say Barrow's weakness is. They gave loads of possession away through dropped balls and also gave loads of penalties away - not sure they'll be so sloppy in the final. I reckon they will go for the safe approach against us - play mainly down the middle and try to wear us out. They'll probably give very few penalties away and also rely on their tight defence. Having said that Liam Campbell is out for the season, from what the commentators said, Catic will almost certainly be banned, Holt is also currently out injured, Brocklehurst has been sacked and Rooney wont be elligible to play in the final.

Certainly won't be easy and I'm not sure why we're favourites, but with our new recruits (since the last Barrow game), players that have returned from inury, training sorted out, performances on the up, Barrow having several players missing - our chances are certainly a lot better than what they were a few months or even weeks ago.

We're going to be in a massive battle next week against Barrow.

cast your mind back two short years, everyone who thought they were an authority on the game were tipping haven to beat us in the final. trust me youngster, we will win and win well.

I dont mean to sound negative but if harrison gets a lot of possession he could cause us A LOT of problems
espically with our backs maybe not being the best in defence

i would start toa on the bench against barrow, because every time we play them he just wants to fight with there centre or stand off.

For what it's worth, I make Widnes big favourites for the final. With all our injuries (Campbell, Holt, Ostler) ,disciplinary issues (Brocklehurst, Catic) and ineligiblity of Rooney, we'll most probably have to draft in 2 or 3 academy players to make the numbers up.

I think our best chance is to get the ball out wide. That's how we started the season and when we played best.

I don't think it'll really sunk in that we're in a final until I'm sat on my seat at Bloomfield Road.

One thing's for sure - it'll be an amazing atmosphere.

Yes, it's Barrow - 2 Widnes - 0 so far this season.

But it was Fax - 2 Widnes - 0 before the semi final. We're a different team now.
