very ambitious comments suppose thats the way to be, dont agree that widnes could dominate the sport but certainly think widnes could turn out to be top 8 regulars given some good recruitment and a big focus on the youth policy which over the last year or so widnes have showed.

Saints and Wire have had decent attendances but not as big as Leeds or Wigan.You can compete with a salary cap and with good marketing,sales, and the right owner you can become a success.Great sponsors could pay part of the wages, and we could be a regular top 6 or even more.

who knows anything could happen but like richardviking said one step at a time, first of all wait until the licence decision you should get the nod but you never know. if widnes are sucessfull in the bid then its about getting a strong competitive squad for the super league and making sure that everything on and off the field the vikings are in the best possible shape hopefully going into super league like the squad, youth setup, sponsors, staff

Perhaps you should start by providing three or four players to the England Academy squad. Something which you supposed top quality yoof setup failed to do this year.

All our lads can do is win the league, we don't select the squad! Bare in mind that academy squad also had lads a few years older and a decent % who played SL rugby this year

We don't have an academy. We put our money into first team, won the league. You put your money into the academy, won their league. We are using our First Team success as the basis for our license bid, you are using your academy as the basis for your license bid. However our boss isn't claiming that these players are going to be playing for England in three years time.

FYI, the last time we did run an academy we produced several players who have played international rugby this off-season and a few more who were on the fringe of selection to the England team.

I know which one I'd go with.

It is ludicrous to suggest that your first team squad will form the basis of your Super League bid. The majority of those players would not make it into a Super League team.

In any case, there's a number of academy lads who have been promoted to our first team and have staked regular starting places. Therefore our first team is indeed playing a role in our franchise bid and demonstrating that our focus is firmly on developing our own talent for the long term future. Nothing you can say about Halifax can rival that.

Perhaps if you stopped sucking on sour grapes, your opinions might not be so confused and deluded.
