This is why I completely dislike the dual registration system. Regardless of the quality of player there is always the risk of disruption and what happens to Ainscough's replacement when WIgan let you have him back ? Probably be relegated back to the bench or reserves which cannot be good for morale. Unfortunatley the lovely people at the RFL have forced the hands of clubs by reducing the salary cap !

Rumour has it he's on his way to Cas, he's needed at the moment because we have Gaskell and Flynn out for quite a while and James Ford (Hamstring) and Chris Dean (shoulder) are also out at the mo. If the above were fit it wouldnt be an issue as Paddy Flynn is a superstar in the making and Gaskell is one of the better players in the division. Basically were a little short on backs!

Both Liam Farrell and Ben Davies will be with us for the season.

There's no way it should be allowed to happen, and got to admit I will be a bit pi**ed if is allowed to happen.

I can't see why Wigan would want it happen - the set up as it is now where every week Wigan know either they can play him, or if he's not required then he can play for us, must be very attractive to them. If he does go to Cas on loan then the minimum time he could spent there is a month - what happens if Wigan pick up 1 or 2 more injuries? Hopefully it is just rumour, but if not, the RFL need to re-assess the dual contract system and give the Championship clubs a bit more protection. If the SL club wants to re-call a player to play them fine, if the SL club wants to sell the player, also fine, but there's no way a club should be allowed to re-call a player to loan to a different club. IMO it would totally undermine the relationship between the SL and Championship club.

I think someone previously said that once you have made 4 dual contract signings that is it and you can't sign any more - how could Ainscough still count as a dual signing if he would be on loan to a different club? I totally agree with what you saying mate.It needs to be beneficial to both clubs.Who started the rumour about ainscough?To be honest if wigan got another injury, say to pat richards or amos roberts, who will they have playing for them if goes to cas?I think the problem with dual is nobody understands it properly.I thought dual was for the season,and he can only play for Wigan and widnes?We are allowed 4 dual registered players, so if terminated from us, then we should be allowed another player?

By the way ainscough has a hamstring injury, so will be out for a few weeks.Can not see him playing this weekend for castleford.

He is a dual registered player between Wigan & Widnes. I know he is Wigans player and they can pretty much do what they want with him but unless there is a fee involved which would be beneficial to Wigan then it must be wrong for him to be allowed to join another club outside his dual contract. Absolutely no issues with him if he played for Wigan for the rest of the season. Sure he'd be playing at a higher level with Cas but Wigan should have tried to loan him to Superleague clubs if they wanted him to play at that level

Gentleman, lets get one thing very clear.

The dual reg system was never intended to benefit your club or any other non SL club.

It is a vehicle for increasing the number of young players SL clubs can contract, thus bypassing the traditional development process of players starting at Champ1 or Championship clubs. You are just paying his wages until they decide to do something else with him, like send him to Cas to get improved development.

We had Mossop on loan last year, he wanted to extend his loan deal but Wigan recalled him as they had an approach from Hudds to take him on loan. The players opinion counts for nothing, they go where they are told, the club loaning (or "dualling"icon_wink.gif the player has even fewer rights and the SL club couldn't give a toss because all they care about is themselves.

Get used to it as it will no doubt happen again and to all clubs making use of the dual reg system.

I don't disagree with you for a minute ONS. What I'm getting at is did/do the lower league clubs know this, if they do, why don't they let their fans know that the player can be carted off pretty much where and when the parent club fancies.

I feel sorry for Owen/Cas but it begs the question as to why a Superleague club has no other player deemed good enough coming through. I know part of the reason we got Ainscough in the first place was because we had long term injuries to our first choice wingers (one of whom incidentally is a very good product of our youth system) but I'd expect SL clubs to have strength in depth enough to cope with one injury at least

If this is the case with dual contract players, then i do not want another.We should sign Ben Davies on a season long loan, and hopefully no other club will want farrell.Maybe with the release of ainscough, we can get another player later in the season?We will be fine soon with flynn and gaskell back.Think flynn only a week or 2 away from playing.

All that says is that he isn't in Wigan's squad for the next game. If its VM's source is correct and Cas want him, he's gone. We haven't made use of the system to date and I hope we don't, 4 players is 23.5% of your team that can be recalled on 24hrs notice! no thanks. I have no issues with other teams making use of it, for the reasons just mentioned

On Cas site that he has signed for them on month's loan... let's be honest we have been massively used now as surely he can't be contracted to 3 sides so in essence the dual reg has been broke by Wigan!

What a joke this rule is and the way the RFL are running/ruining the game. Whats the point of having signed a dual Reg player only for his club to recall him and send him on loan elsewhere! Surely the RFL would be better saying any Dual Reg player has to stay eitgher at his Championship club OR his SL Club.
