| Both Danny's played well today - good bit out today, I have good memories of Washy, he always played in/on full commitment right up until his last game for Wakey even though he had signed for Hull again, with some 5 weeks to go to the end of season, unsung, full tilt club player, good luck next season !

| he's a model pro, knows he won't be first choice anymore but still gives 100% Any youngsters coming through could do worse then look to him for an example of how to play and conduct themselves. Always looks like he is enjoying himself too. Same can be said of Kirmond too
if we avoid too many injuries this year he'll probablt end up captaining the reserve team - should there be anyone to play against!

Going on ability i cannot believe how Washbrook has made a living in Rugby League for as long as he has. He is a great club man and ambasserdor for the sport, but as far as his skill in the game goes he is the epitomy of average, good luck to the kid and i hope he makes shed loads this year for his testamonial, but i have loads of F.C friends who think that players like him are part of Hull F.C's downward spiral.

Of course he hasn't!
Washy's probably made a living because he has played over 200 games for us and over 100 for Wakefield, he's never under 6/7 in the ratings and featured in two consecutive Cup Final winning teams and helped Wakey win the Mllion Pound game (and scored a crucial try). Only two years ago Rovers made him an offer to join them!
OK he might be getting on a bit and he might not be an automatic choice these days, but the guy has taking a smallish wage just to keep playing and he never ever lets you down! Wakey fans all talk highly of him and although I've been critical at times Good luck to him, he won't be in there every week for us these days and he doesn't expect to be, but he is still probably one of the most consistant players in the game when he does play. Local lad giving his all every week for his local team, off the field he's a smashing bloke too, that's the stuff that Rugby League is built on!

You more or less said the same thing about Mark Sneyd. Seems to be a thread to your posts, something like, FC and it’s players are bang average/ below average. Where’s the mods when needed, get back under your bridge Troll.

| 'Epitomy of average'. Well judging by the team you support, you must be an expert.
Most teams don't have star players 1 to 13, but those star players need people around them who will not let them down. Danny Washbrook is one of those players.

After seeing Mich Garbutt's attempts at tackling on Sunday, I suggest you worry about your own team rather than coming on here trying to get bites.

| Whilst Washy may not be one of the top dynamic stars of the game he is the sort of player every team needs. He's a player that if given a job will reliably go out there and do it without question and not let anyone down.
He is unlikely to play regularly in the 17 this season if we have a fairly injury free season but he is worth his place at the club.
For me he is similar in many ways to the likes Adam Maher & Shane McMenemy who were players that weren't blessed with star making skills but knew the game, knew their role and had the right mentality and went about their job professionally.
Its always the players that don't take the spotlight that quite often are the ones that lay the platform for the others to shine.

Change the word "average" to durable or reliable and your probably closer to the truth. Not blessed with speed or have a killer pass in his game, he has stood the test of time due to knowing exactly what you will get - 100% every time and in variety of positions if needed.
