I'm delighted but disappointed at the same time. Delighted he is staying obviously, but it should be a 3/4 year deal, the kid is quality and can be one of the players we can build a team around in the coming years. We may have found the English Richard Swain.

I would think it would be Danny's choice as his deal maybe wont what he would expect to earn in 2 years, so if he carries on improving then he can get a better deal in 2 years, I think in 2 years he could be playing international rugby.

Great news for Danny and the club, always thought he would stay.

Congratulations all-round on his new deal.
He could do a full 80 minutes easily but it would be a bit unfair to ask him to do it week in week out in a very demanding position and 40 would not be enough for a man of his talents.
When Berro goes to play back home i would keep Danny as the one specialist and get a utility to spell him 10 minutes each side of half-time.

Houghton needs to keep his starting place, it would be silly to move him back to the bench for Berrigan. Berrigan is very effetive off the bench and not just at hooker (I'm sure most Queensland fans would agree).

Well done Danny you totally deserve it i believe it should of been at least 3yrs with 1 year extension with you being a young up and coming star but a 2yr contract too keep you at the mighty FC is good enough for me lets hope more are signed on soon

Congrats to danny and well done to the club. Shame it's not for longer but I guess in two years if he has progressed he will rightly expect to be paid more so I have no issues with that.

Not convinced on a two year, if he was going to be our natural cover for Berrigan thought we'd of secured a longer term deal, unless we're awaiting to see how he progresses in the near future.

Nice to see him signed on though, been playing out of his skin of late!

Alot can happen in 2 years and I suspect Danny has ambitions to play for his country.

See either way, our club should be doing as much as they can to secure more than a 2 year deal from him. I feel he has way to much potential. 2 year's time Berro will be long gone. Im hoping Danny will be secured firmly ahed of Roby etc.

As I have said I doubt it was the clubs decsion, this deal could wokr out for all concerned.

Say Hull offered him 40K* a year for the next 4 years, Danny might think he can earn more in 2 years as he will be a better player and maybe an international, also it covers Hull, as maybe thy could have signed him on a 4 year deal on for say 70K, but what if doesnt develop and suddnedly isnt good enough, early in the season there where a few people on here, stating they didnt think he was good enough (not me). Look at Warrington Penny has a few good games and they sign him a on a big wage for 4 years, next they are loaning him out to Quins and trying to get rid of him to wakey.

I know Danny and his family and would be shocked if he ever left Hull, if they want him and they offer him a fair deal.

Agreed. Look what happened with Washy - hysteria on here when he was being linked with Rovers at the time of his last renewal and he signed a 3 year deal which with hindsight would have been better to have been 2. As has been said, sounds like he believes he can play well enough in the next 2 years to get an improved deal in 2013, so good luck to him.

Good deal for both parties imo. Showing some good form atm but still has a lot to learn .
