| I would, O'meley would have sounded the move out well before this article came out and well before we signed Aspinwall and Burnett.

True. I think that Hull are in the market for another prop though. I was told by a pal of his that Jack Aldous has been sounded out by Radders for a swift return to the KC. Without been rude to the kid, quality props must be in short supply if Hull are looking to bring him back.

| That would make me think we have no room on the cap then as I can't see him getting a big enough deal to be in the top 25.

What's the matter? Are you really saying that you get covered in beer every time FC score? Really? You must be either in the most exciting part of the KC or in the failed AA stand or in a parallel universe where FC score quite a lot and fans get excited! I have never been drenched by beer or for that matter anything else at the KC. The girl that occasionally sits in the adjacent seat eats crisps and other rubbish for the whole game generally without ever closing her mouth and has to stock up on coke and other cr@p during the game. Jeremy Clarkson's solution would suit me in her case but I regrettably have to put up with her. The solution to your particular problem is either to point out to the drinkers that spilling it at these prices is stupid ( as the recession bites things will improve ) or to move seats. As with most things it's the people rather the guns they own , the cars they drive , the beer they drink , the team they support etc that are the problem. I just think that your idiots spilling drink over you every game , well once or twice , shouldn't be the reason to stop sensible people having a beer in their seat.
You didn't respond about the pre sitting in the seat drinking and bladder control in general????????'" The simple answer if you want to drink beer stay in the Pub'"
What and not go to the game? So essentially on match days don't drink? My point is that drinking at home before the game - even water , tea , coffee , coke etc , or in the pub or anywhere else only has the same effect as drinking at or in the ground in terms of people going to and fro from their seat to the loo. I said before that prices and quality are for me the thing that stop me drinking in the stadium but I haven't seen or heard any evidence or argument that says drinking beer in your seat causes any problems at all or is any worse than drinking anything else - drunks and anti social types will drink somewhere else before the game or in the concourse but unless you introduce a rule that dictates you cannot leave your seat once you're in it people will do so. I accept some people just have a problem with drinking , full stop , and that's fine if they want to lobby to have the KC alcohol free. It just doesn't make any sense whatsoever to stop people having a beer in their seat.'"
Forgive me, but you're now just making things up and looking ridiculous as a result.
I've never said I get soaked every time FC score. All three of us that go got soaked at least a three times during the season when drinking was allowed. Beer was spilling down the steps and also soaking handbags and jackets under the seat. I'm not making this up, so don't call me a liar please. We have to get up more often in our section when beer is in seats than when not. Again, I'm not lying. The point about getting up for children to go to the toilet is neither here nor there, because it's the same whether beer can be drunk in the stands or not.
As for saying I'm against drinking per se, and having a rant about that, it's frankly ridiculous and evidence of inability to handle a difference of opinion, supported by personal experiences, in a coherent way.
At the end of the day, there were some sound reasons for banning drinking in the stands. In my opinion these reasons haven't changed but unfortunately profit comes first. Disappointing IMO.

| I'm with Mrs B on the booze bit, it was tried and it didn't work. We had people in front of use getting up frequently during the game.
If the club really want people to drink in the stands I would prefer they reserve an area for this but I don't see how they can given the number of passes sold in so many different areas.

Plenty of people got up frequently last season during games to either go to the toilet,or go to the kiosk for refreshments(plenty of kids do this).Perhaps we should stop coffee/tea and food being taken to seats? Fans drink plenty before a game,in the pubs and the sports bar anyway to warrant needing the toilet during a game.

I work with someone who is also a KC steward. Put simply, no drinking in seats = almost no bother, drinking in seats = more incidents than at City games with about 2/3-half the crowd. His claim not mine.
My personal dislike of it is the mentioned disruption and also the increase of gobsh*tes who think that a) they are much more knowledgable than everyone else, and b) that everyone else is interested in or will benefit from what they have to say. It seems to completely pass them by that a good portion of what comes out of their mouth either doesn't make sense or contradicts what they've said earlier. And I don't see why it should be me that has to sit somewhere else in the stadium when my behavour hasn't changed or (at least to my knowledge) caused a problem for anybody else. I appreciate that not all who want a drink are like this, but unfortunately from my experience and those of friends/acquaintances I think enough of them are for drinking in the stands to be justifiably banned.

How 'bad' does it need to be before it's not just more convenient to accept it as collateral damage so you can enjoy a pint in your seat?
Whether it's verbal abuse, aggression/intimidation, threats of physical abuse, or even some trying to start fights with other fans or stewards, these things are all unacceptable and apparently increased when alcohol was allowed in the stands. I'm not saying that it is the cause of the problems, but it does escalate them.

| What a bloody stupid argument. How many people stay in the the pub till 15mins before the game then go straight to their seats then needing a pee half way through the half? Lots id say so shall we ban them as well? Mrs B your normally right on with a lot of your comments but on this you just sound like a pathetic old moaner moaning for moanings sake.

Totally agree with you. Can't just blame drinking in seats for it all.On a typical friday night home game last season,a kick off at 8pm resulted in plenty being in the surrounding pubs for 5-30,which would relate to around 6-8 pints, and needing to p**s during the game.Drinking in you're seat can not be to blame alone!

I don't think anyone is saying it's the sole cause of any problem, but that it exacerbates several problems and it's one thing that can be banned easily. I really don't get the mentality of a person that can't wait 40 minutes for their next pint of (really horrible) beer.

| I can understand folks wanting a beer or two during the last 3 or 4 seasons of such dire rugby, but I can see quite a few spills with excitement, if we fulfil our potential under the new regime.
Fair arguments from both sides, but I recon if the reintroduction went to a pass holder vote, then it would be a no.

Surprised I am the first to mentioned it but this would have been a better signing than Tony Martin and probably for around the same cost.
That said, I like all our other signing (including Aspinwall).

| This has reached the usual 1000 post threshold (or thereabouts), so locked, as it was becoming too much of a free for all anyway.
I've started a new rumours thread and a drinking in your seat thread.
Don't all rush to thank me.
