| Quote ="scarrie"Cator, Savelio and Griffin should as far as I know. Nobody seems to quite know about Swift, he was in a boot at the game last week. By all accounts its some issue with the plate he has in his leg.'"
Savelio has been back training so should be good to go for the start of the season.
Carlos has got his boot off now and again should be ready to go for the start of the season.
Cator started back running on grass 2 weeks ago and should be fit too.
Not good news I’m hearing on Swift. Looks like he needs an operation and to have the injury replated and pinned.

| Wonder if it is indeed Smith who gets the poison chalice, we may engineer a Cooke scenario with Hull fan Mikey Lewis? Just resign and sit out 7 matches , as Gale did (for different reasons) - then your good to go!!!

Tend to agree if only for sorting the culture out. The only thing you can say is that at least the candidates seem to be experienced, not assistants.

Yup, the big positive from all potential candidates so far are all experienced. Although Smith is more likely and I still would be happy with the appointment, we have seen with that mob what happens when he doesn't get his way. We will need to hope that AP and the DJ are happy to let him take the reigns on a lot of things. On face value I wouldn't put AP and Smith together as a pairing which would work together but you never know. I think Wane is a more ambitious option and one that would really turn peoples attention to our ambitions.

| Shaun Wane is about to take England into the World Cup I reckon that has his full attention right now, I doubt he's planning on looking for a new job and relocating the family at this time.

I think we need someone who can start now and start to put things in place for next season.

| If we get Smith then Stuart "Psycho" Pearce will be coming to our games. He'll be ditching the Primrose and Blue for Black and White in no time.

| Got a funny feeling I'll be eating humble pie about Thorman. Rumour is he's the assistant.
Fair play to him for coming back if true. I wouldn't have the stomach

doesnt matter who we bring in because unless we sign a big mobile second row and front row we still have a very weak squad.
Key for me is binning Taylor,Griffin and hopefully Evans which would give us some ability to move in the market

I agree the second row needs some attention and we have a bit of dead weight but even so there is far more potential in our current squad than has been shown thus far. If it can be extracted somehow then that'll go a long way to improving matters.

I'd rather have Thorman than Gene. I seen people not wanting him because he was a poor player for Hull in 2009, that doesn't make any sense at all.

I rather bin Evans than Taylor, at least we would have a non fed place to play with, no good paying off Taylor if we can't replace him.
Griffin, we could use his money to sign Longstaff.

| I wouldn't be disappointed with Shaun Wane, however his only club coaching role was at Wigan. I accept that it has it's own unique pressures however it's not the toughest job in Rugby League. He hasn't experienced a club or situation like ours. So I'd personally prefer Smith, he has that more rounded experience.

That’s my view too, as good as he was at Wigan he’d only ever coached there. From the youths upwards. Would he have the same passion moving to a completely new club he has no previous ties too? I’m not sure.
