So - back home from the game. Robins looked okay in patches and Dobson played pretty well but they were outmuscled by the FC pack. ANyway, Robins fans will judge them better than I can. I think Rovers tried very hard to slow down the play the ball but were penalised often for it.

Long kicked very very well - always finding the ground. Took one late-ish hit and the Hull pack went looking for the culprit - very good to see. He also made a couple of very good breaks but on both occasions the pass was dropped.

O'Meley gave it a good show and put one or two hits in.
Fitzy took a knock to his leg earlier on and seemed to struggle for a while but looks very strong when carrying the ball
Turned scored a very good try
The Briscoe try was very good rugby
I thought Houghton was a bit quiet (really missed Berrigan)
I thought we missed Yeaman's defence - Whiting tightened things up when he came on
Lauaki was a handful when carrying the ball and seems to really irritate defenders who then give penalties away

Anyway, a good trial game that we won comfortably although we let a couple of soft tries in (from good moved btw). Lots of effort from the team and some good, aggressive defensive work. I think we can look on it as a promising start from a newly-formed FC squad missing a couple of key players.
