As with any winger, he will only thrive with service, and at the moment he's getting pretty much none. Colin Best is probably the last right winger most Hull fans tend to agree on, but is it pure coincidence that that was the last Hull team that had both a first class right centre and an attack with a quality halfback on both sides of the pitch?

He should never have been at dummy half in the late stages though.

Oh I understand why he wanted to be there. IMO it showed the enthusiasm and desire to help/impress that so many are ridiculously saying is absent. He just shouldn't have been there because he doesn't have the game to deliver from there, it should have been one of our playmakers. Unfortunately, they were decidedly absent, as they had been all game (R Horne apart).

As ive said elsewhere, it doesnt help when Thorman has to make most of our tackles as Manu is woeful in defence. I bet Manu missed over 10 tackles on Friday and left Thorman 1 on 1 defensively.

I didn't think he was that bad TBH, certainly nowhere near 10. A big bloke playing as many minutes as he currently is is bound to miss a few though as they get tired, another sign to me that we have been asking too much of certain forwards and simply getting away with it so far. IMO Manu got through the most work with ball in hand out of our entire pack, there always has to be a trade off when it's like that.

Speaking of Thorman, I thought he was monumentally shyt on Friday, first 5 minutes apart.

He was particularly poor IMO. His kicking was mediocre, he created little, and considering how much has been made by the club about his organisational ability and how vocal he is we were a shambles for much of the match.

Castleford were always going to score a few points against us with their attacking ability, it was our attacking play that let us down IMO.

Must have watched a different game. (definately so if you missed the Moa offload!!)

Thorman wasn't on Friday, but I'm not writing him off completely. He was outstanding against Bradford, we just need Friday night to be an exception.

Yeaman has always had an issue with putting his winger in. It doesn't make him a bad player it's just something he needs to fix as it is a relatively simple thing and has the potential to be costly in the big games. It's about time we did see an improvement with it though, it's been noticeable for long enough now.

This is my concern. He's had this issue for the whole of his career, and he's hardly improved at all. That may indicate that he's not capable of further improvement, which in turn would mean that he'll always be a good player rather than a great one.

Indeed. The benefits of a top class centre can be seen at Saints when a terminally mediocre winger like Gardner can top the try scoring charts. They have a centre that takes the right option 99% of the time and they score a hatful of tries because of it.

Yeaman has all the physical attributes to be a top class centre, but the mental attributes seem to be lacking a little over the past few seasons. If he can put that right, we'll have an excellent player.

Same for us on our board, f'in ridiculous. If we beat Salford we'll be brilliant again, no doubt.

I know you are meant to be only as good as your last game, but there has to be a middle ground. Quins fans same to take bigger swings in form in their stride.
