Longy is actually very good defensively and leads the line well, I have to admit it is an area of his game I was not familiar with but I am impressed with.

I do not care how we did it...all that matters is we did it!!

Very patchy by Hull. Hopefully come the quarter finals we have a healthy squad.

2 games to Wembley!! We got 50 points in the end, by playing poorly by the sounds.

Yep...Longy, Obst, Fitz & Gleeson would make a huge difference.

50pts away from home by playing poorly.......il take that....couldnt care how we played as we have 4 match winners to come back in and that will improve the team....now for a nice draw...Cas will do.

As I said it was pretty comfortable for most of the match and the score reflected it. It was only a fair bit of loose play that allowed widnes to score that many points. Nothing too much to worry about really.

Fitz rested and Gleeson and Obst given another week....only Long who is a unhealthy player.

Fitz rested, but Gleeson and Obst had knocks and was left out. Wouldn't have called them healthy.

Have them back for the Quarters all been well anyway.

Pretty much sums it up for me.

I will give you Fitz as he leads our line however not buying the idea Obst has a big influence on our defensive structures.

I mentioned Long because people were saying we missed him and Obst, which I agree with from a offensive POV but not a defensive.

Pretty much as I expected. Like it or not a team is never going to be at full intensity every game, and even for a pro player its difficult to get excited about games like these. Today was all about getting in the draw and I doubt it will be any kind of indicator of how we play in the coming weeks.

Yep - good summary. Probably the worst we'll play and score 50. Glad it wasn't televised. Great turnout from FC as well.

I thought Richard Horne was the 1 player that showed the difference in class today. Outstanding

Enjoyed the game today. When Hull played, they played really well. Horne showed his class, and a good run out for Turner - tidied up the play quite a bit when it got ragged. Hull were always in control, and were never in danger of losing. To be fair, most of Widnes's tries came courtesy of the ref and double penalties, which gave them good field position.
All in all a decent performance, and we're through to the next round.

agree, we never looked in any danger at any time, and never broke into a sweat to get 50 either!!

To be honest Hicks had a good game when he reffed Salford v Quins but today he was poor
he missed a lot trying to let the game flow
