Agreed really annoys me don't bother reading or believing it then, annoys me when people won't accept it unless you reveal the " source " which in most cases people won't do anyway as it would get that source in trouble probably.

Exactly , reckon that's how most these pay offs work . At the minute obst has all the power but after a certain figure the rest won't come of the salary cap .

Yes, but we'd still need to pay him. By negotiating a release, we wouldn't need to pay him as much and he gets to play somewhere else

By de-registering him it forces his hand, he either accepts a pay off or sits in the stand. As long as he doesn't play his salary doesn't count on the cap, and if he's de-registered we can use his quota spot (not 100% on this part).

It does, but the lad signed a 2 year contract. He might have to take a pay cut on his next one, he needs to be compensated fairly.
