I think Gentles made his bed in assembling a bang average squad. Forget missing out on a scrum half, were bang average in the forwards and wont win many battles unless the opposition isnt up for it. If it is we'll lose almost every time.

Agree regarding Yeamo, who by his own admission is not in the best of form. Wouldnt usually sanction moving Whiting out of the back row but i dont think yeamo offers much more than Whiting but Rich has great all round defence and will surely promote much more ball out to Briscoe. Would also free up space on the bench for Watts to return. Green, Crooks, Holdsworth all need to come back in.

im not saying drop galea for his form tbh hes been consistent but there is better players who are been overlooked for me and he is surplus to requirements we have tickle and westerman and both can do 80 mins in 2nd row we need more props so bowden green omeley lynch Johnson all need to be in the 17 for me and we seem to start really well with 3 props on then we bring whiting or Pitts on and get battered id like us to go with abit more bulk and bully teams and play off the back of that

hopefully a big aggressive forward in the style of sam moa, we're a soft touch, easily beaten in the pack, look at most teams in the league, they all have at least one player of that style, we dont have any! biggest mistake was not replacing sam!

Think the pressure is on PG and it comes down partly to poor recruiting we havent replaced Moa and Manu in what they brought to the team. We dont seem to have anyone who can break a tackle or has some grunt going forward just seems very predictable.

Maybe a bit of both, you do wonder who identified Arundel as a man to give a 4 year contract.

However, it appears from what he has said that Gentle identified Jason Crookes who does look a good signing, particularly with Briscoe set to leave.

Andy hay will have been the man to identify Arundel.

Arundel is young, and will take time, he was a top prospect at Cas and he should be given more time, maybe that means out of the first team for a while longer.

BOT and as for Gentle, my concern is more to do with can he get them fired up enough? And not about set pieces and plays, I'm sure they must work hard on those but the players are not delivering.

At times last night it seemed to me (maybe because we were getting battered) that the players had given up and there was nobody to get them by the scruff of the neck and lead them? PG can't do that whilst they are on the pitch.

A good halfback will of course dictate the plays and lead them around the park from a technical point of view, but there can be no substitute for a man out there who leads by example and is prepares to give his own players a rocket when required.

Roy Keane was a good/excellent player, but he was one hell of a captain and leader.

I just dont see that on the pitch and for me is a far bigger issue than PG.

I wonder if Green and Crooks really had knocks? I suspect that because we were paying Widnes that PG thought it was an ideal game to try and use Arundel and Seyour, give them a bit of game time and confidence in an easy win?
