They've still got Clarke and Higham for hooker so Monaghan to 7.
Isn't that the way they went fir the big games last season?

| If we go into the new season without signing half back cover, there's no way the club can hide behind the "we were without one of our half backs" excuse that was hidden behind last season.
They've had enough time to put something into place (they should have started looking in the middle of last season), to provide cover for two injury prone half backs.
Any excuses ("not Agar's team", "injuries in key positions", etc, etc) just won't wash next year.

Totally agree, but none of us on here know what agar has planned do we,im sure all will be revealed and a lot will depend on berro i guess, cos if he goes we need cover at 9 aswel, i can see briscoe going in the centres and sharp and reece on the wings,we could also see young nicklas make a few appearances, like i said in a thread yesterday i was watching the lads in training at south hunsley and they all look in good shape, maybe a few things have changed since last season .

We can expect better because Burnett and Calderwood hardly played, and the rest of the squad weren't exactly consistent. Improvement is clearly possible - it's down to Agar to deliver it.

| if we keep berrigan next season, surely with burnett going on loan then we have enough money to sign sam obst. i know he's not an amazing player but he'd be good off the bench, can cover HB and hooker and wouldn't cost loads of money. wakefield are in dire straits so might want to offload him
if berrigan does leave then we should try and sign jarrod sammut IMO. i'd take him for 2 yrs, don't see it as such a major gamble given that he is a cracking player and he would come in useful in 2012 in the same role, HB/hooker. afterall, berro and long will most certainly not be playing for us in 2012 so sammut would be very handy mainly as cover for HB and to give houghton a breather

training on astro turf eh?? and people wonder where all the injuries come from, that'll do fitzgibbon, o'meley etc. a lot of good. I know what with the weather there isn't much alternative but people shouldn't be so surprised when the older members of the squad are missing with knee or ankle problems later in the season.

I see what your saying Sandy, but isn't South Hunsley a 3G pitch which takes the studs better and looser as opposed to the 2G Astro-turf. Whilst its not as ideal as grass as long as the club provide appropriate footwear then you wont get better then that. You could mention nearly all the training the club do and link it to a risk in injury. As far as I am aware theres no evidence to suggest the new 3G pitches increase these injuries.
