I got in the golf stand no problem last season and there were still tickets available to buy online the day before the game. The only downside was that i got a Rovers season pass form through the post because i bought a ticket from their online office.

After Hull got a share of a £40m+ gift, complaints about Rovers getting a share of a £4m loan would seem very mean spirited to me. Essentially the only remaining option would be the council saying f-off and take your vision of a multi-purpose community facility, long-term SL participation and £2m pound European development grant with you. Is that what you think would be doing the right thing by KuH? Looking at this thread, I suppose that is a rhetorical question.

It's the timing that is the big thing for me. We are talking about 7,000 people in east Hull that watch Rovers, do they really warrant this type of spend when so many other services are being cut? At least if it's a loan then it makes it a bit easier to understand but what hapens if Rovers can't make the payments in 4 years time? Also who is paying the interest in the first four years, as Rovers are on a basic rent during this time.

I think some of the reporting has been, if not inaccurate then misleading.

How many 'gifts' do you pay rent on? And a share of the self-same 'gift' was offered to Rovers. Not our fault that you turned it down.

I don't doubt that for a second, it's still essentially £4m for 7000 people though.

I'd count it as about £1.3m (with the other 2 partners taking roughly [uequal[/u shares). All three partners intend to repay the loan. If loan it be.

Even at £4 million and counting the fans of FC and City works out per capita better value than the KC.

Not me - I like the way things turned out just fine. Always amuses me when the whole 'KC gift' thing gets trotted out by Rovers fans though. And as I don't live in Hull I'm not even contributing towards Rovers 'gift' so I'm not getting worked up about that either. Compared with my council wasting £4m on a bus lane that isn't needed and nobody wants it looks like decent value for money.

So we're both happy.






Don't begrudge you lot the KC. Hope Cas, Wakey and Salford get sorted out. It's all good for RL. People can talk about the economic situation but unless the RFL relax their franchise criteria to reflect it, those imperatives remain. The punchline to the advice of 'wait, wait, wait...' would be '... too late; ha ha'. This we know.
If it is a loan, which I believe it is, you can look forward to plenty more amusement in the future.

Given the impressively selective memory of the vast majority of Rovers fans I expect the amusement to continue regardless of whether this turns out to be a loan or not.

I think the council's freedom of information team may be very busy as they will have to supply the answers to anyone about the deal.It does seem a little hazy as who will be providing the adult education? (at a time when the fund for adult education has been slashed and 5 minutes from the multi million pound freedom centre which Hull adult eduction is already based in).
