| I'm not sure if I've seen such a consistently brutal tackler.
He was absolutely battering them.

Joel Edwards and Nigel Plum like to hit hard in the tackle but never as consistent as Ellis .

| Been at the KC fun day today - was shocked just how big all the guys are up close. Ellis is huge and how Mr Lineham has such a turn of speed for such a big bloke I don't know.

| The guy is an absolute machine. Like a previous poster stated, I've never seen someone hit so consistently and brutally hard as Ellis does.

| Whatever wage he's on, no matter how much the Rovers fans' grandad's cousin's bank cashier know we're giving him, it's worth every penny. Absolute leader, took a knock but still made it back on and tackled hard, I think the best is yet to come too with him coming in late due to injury.

It doesnt matter what wage we are paying him its all part of the salary cap jigsaw that all clubs must abide by.
If Rovers fans get precious then they need reminding that we both pay the same salary cap wise but only one team is value for money player wise - Rovers turn up for Derbies but not alot else result wise! Ripping their fans off IMHO.

| Fantastic defender who hits really hard and he's also a superb leader. It's no coincidence that our run of good form has been since he came back. Still a lot more to come from in attack.

| Ellis is a machine and as stated above its no coincidence that our form changed when he started playing after injury. Just need Miller here now to hopefully complete a very competitive side.

| Sir Fitz's workrate and tackling were top notch but Ellis's intensity in the tackle is on a different plateau.

Do you, or anyone else for that matter, find it also a coincidence that it started around the time Andy Hay left?

| Defensively excellent, best in the league IMO. Leader, again, best in the league. Attack, good, but not as good as I've seen him in the past, hopefully that will come.

I think Ellis coming back, whatever Hay was or wasn't doing, Ellis makes a huge difference on the field.

When he was with wests, he used to run some great diagonal lines in attack, and caused all sorts of problems. Their pivots knew when and how to time the pass, I've noticed this last couple of weeks he's tried it once or twice. Our players wil have to learn how to play with him. When they do, we'll see just how good he is. probably miller will be familiar with this pattern of his play.

| When he signed a lot of people commented on how much he could teach our young forwards but IMO it seems like he has been teaching our whole squad a thing or two, the team clearly lifts to match his intensity and he's always telling people what to do, a true captain.

In an interview Peacock said he demands a his team to give their all in every game, raising each players performance by an extra 5%. Definitely showing since he's come into the side.

He just said the same on Super League Show again. Robbie Paul was saying how we haven't seen the best of Ellis yet, which I agree with & Peacock said 1 of the main thing you get playing with Gareth is that everybody raises their game 5-10% to try & impress him as a player which you obviously don't see but that's the influence he has.

Ellis was mentioned on the Matty Johns Show last night as one of the best UK imports to the NRL.
No coincidence West are awful without him

I have seen every UK import to come out here since 1968 and would place him in the top 10.
Watched Ellis about 10 times playing in the NRL last season and after his foot injury he appeared to lose power and speed in attack whilst maintaining his defensive qualities. I see that now when I watch him in Super League.

| Robbie Paul reckons we've yet to see him snapping people in two like he used too.
I reckon he should ask a few Leeds players about that one.

So was I when Leeds scored their try.

When asked about replacing Hay in a Hull FC TV interview. From his answer I feel AP believes it more than a coincidence too.
