We should be in with a serious chance of 5th, with anything below 6th a massive disappointment, IMO. 7th or 8th wasn't good enough under Agar and it isn't going to be good enough under Gentle. We have a better squad than last year and 5th or 6th should be acheivable.

Possibly Gentle - although we have no idea yet, but for now any change is good.
Happy about playing Sundays so I can watch the Friday night sky games live.
Looking forward to seeing Seymour, Heremaia and possibly Ellis. (Although the old regime signed these.)

Cons
Not entirely convinced McRae is needed.
Happy enough with the slight pass reduction but pyssed off about the end of the voucher exchange scheme.
Poor signings with Martin and Aspinwall.
Average age of the squad has gone up rather than down.
Uninspiring conditioner and physio team.
Lack of pace in the squad, with the exception of Reece.

I'm more than happy, really looking forward to the new season! I watched the Wakey interview with Agar on youtube and it brought the last 3 seasons back to me like a nightmare!
At last we have the coach we have all desired, a coach who is SURE we will win silverware in the next couple of seasons. Forget about the 2 mundane signings (they may shock us) for me it is onwards and upwards COME ON YOU HULL!!!

Our trouble has been our lack of halfback options,and also (last season),our right hand side.A new head coach,new ideas,fresh impetus,halfback options means we aren't far away.Wasn't sure on both Tony Martin and Martin Aspinwall,but Will Sharp needs a experienced centre beside him,rather than the makeshifts of last season.Aspinwall will provide cover in the back row,so i'm optimistic of a decent season.Top 4/5????,and a cup run to Wembley

It's the most optimistic I have felt since the close season after the GF appearance. So far I have been pleased with the clearing at the club of the coaches etc. In AP we have an owner with drive & a desire for success & a coach who so far for me has already mentioned the little bits we have been lacking for years. I think it is fair to say that the club was probably in a worse state re team affairs then any of us fans really knew.
Roll on the opening fixture as I think we will see a totally different team, we may not get instant success but doubt we will be disappointed like we have over the past few years.

Don`t ask me why,or shoot me down,but I have a funny feeling that Martin and Aspinwall may not turn out to be as bad as some folks think.

I'm excited, and hope we can finish 5th/6th next season and have a proper attempt at the playoffs.

I just hope the fans don't expect miracles and start walking out of games early, ringing Humberside to moan etc if we aren't top 2. It will take more than one year to clear Agar's mess up.

Well it is always darkest before the dawn,and you are right,it will be a minor miracle if we achieve dizzy heights the first season.We have to be optimistic after what we have suffered these last seasons.Gentle seems a genuine guy,and I feel we are on the threshold of good times.

Disappointed that AP hasn't had a clear out of some of the posters on here: same old trolls just finding something else to troll - sorry, "moan" - about.

Hopeful of an improved 2012, Silverware may take longer!

I think Adam has made a solid start. The top level clear out, starting with Agar was essential. The subtle return to Sunday fixtures, irregular hoops etc all add to the feel good factor.

I think we need to be realistic of what AP can achieve. The whole contractual/salry cap model means you can't make sweeping changes to a squad, so often seen in Football and lets remember several deals had already been signed before he took over in July. Therefore, we should remain patient and trust that our squad continues to improve in 2013 and 2014. Saying that, I still expect AP to sort out the Euro, bring the country out of recession and deliver World Peace by Christmas!

I was 100% optimistic until the Martin and Aspinwall signings. Then I felt a little underwhelmed.

Having said that, just getting rid of Fubar, Uncle Kath and J Tool is such a massive "plus" that I really shouldn't try to find any negatives at all.

I'm willing to right off this year as a chance to make the relevant changes to our squad which the last regime left us with. Allow some youngsters to come through the ranks would be my preference so we can get rid of some of our average players, as this imo has set us back years with Agars reluctance to play the youngsters.

To many average cr^p on decent money with no youth who we know can cut the mustard at super league level has resulted in us having a salary cap issues imo and signing the likes of Burnett, Aspinwall and Martin on 1 year deals which are short term fixes for this year.

Next year will be a big year as we have some decent players at the ends of there contracts o'meley, moa the above players etc with the hopeful development of our youngsters it will give us a bit more flexibility with the salary cap but we need to be shrewd.

New coach and assistants, new board and more importantly new ideas with plenty of feedback from the camp seems to bode well, give a good account of ourselves and be more consistent this year if we can is all I’d ask for then really stamp our authority the years after.

I'm up for the change and the ride for the next few years as I’ve had to put up watching some right over the past 4 years and it can't get any worse, surly?

That about sums it up for me,anywhere from 6th or above and a visible improvement in the way we play,a plan B when things obviously aren't working and not crumbling due to lack of ideas and intensity against the top end teams and i'll be happy. I don't think anyones expecting to be topping the table (despite the rovers fans claiming we'll have said we did).

Seb, dont worry too much about these two, Martin will be trying to prove a point and Aspinwall, according to Bomber is the rough edge we needed in the middle! At the meet the coach session, Gentle said Aspinwall is shaking some bones in training and everyone is giving him a wide berth, hard as nails. Have faith. I'm just pleased we have been promised more than 5 drives and a kick this season!!

I agree, personally i always thought Martin was a very decent player and knows his way to the line, wasnt he called once the best player never to have worn green and gold??
think he may make a few eat their words but anyway he is clearly a stop gap BUT hope he runs riot and earns another contract and given he was possibly in the top three players in a poor crusaders team i think he may surprise a few.
Aspinwall?? if he plays half to his potential he will be a great signing , great hands hard as nails and just fits the bill in a thin squad in my opinion
