TBH I wouldn't mind it if we were ever up for the game. Apart from last year we've been utter $hite in these games which is really poor. Fans make a big effort to spend their weekend and their cash on following the team and have seen scant reward for it so far in terms of the team's performance.

The idea of the Magic weekend was to (a) spread the game and bring new supporters from outside the heartlands and (b) give smaller clubs a big day out with a Cup final atmosphere.

Today's attendance is pathetic and tomorrow's will be similar. I'd like to bet that 90% of the crowd are supporters of Hull, Rovers, Leeds, Wigan, Saints and Warrington.

The original concept was a brave one but unfortunately it just hasn't worked.

26,642 in a 67,000 capacity stadium with probably 3 of the best supported teams in Hull, Leeds and Bratfut.

Other than the fans making that special effort the rest could be applied to any venue.

I would hold it at the start of the season in London. We already have two professional clubs in London who whilst they have had too much money thrown at them over the years with little return, I feel a February big KO at Wembley (I would prefare the Emirates but thats out of the question in mid season) with loads of promotion would work.

Looking at what Saracens have done with promotion in London we could get 50 - 60000 for each day. Plau all the national press is based in London and we might just generate some good publicity to kick off the super league season.

I agree with taking it to Newcastle. It would be easier to get to and you could go there and back in a day. Only other thing they could do is to take it to another country to promote the game.

we were saying yesterday that we'd move it to the opening game of the season as a launch event and have the saturday at elland road with the yorkshire derbies and the sunday at reebock for the lancashire derbies. Would be more appealling and more local

East stand was packed out yesterday (mainly because it cut out the bitterly cold wind) but the rest of the ground was virtually empty. If they used their brains they would make it the season opener when fans are chomping at the bit for some RL and it may make more decide to go. At this time of the year its a fair old expense to budget for and i am sure a lot of people have more important things like holidays to spend their cash on.

I dont understand the thinking behind Edinburgh though, although it is a good place and we had a couple of cracking nights out, the whole purpose of this is to expand the game. When you have no teams in the area how the hell is it supposed to expand it. That along with the fact hardly anyone in Edinburgh knew it was on. Now the Welsh have a SL team it would make more sense to take it back to wales or move it to London.

put together with yesterday's comes to around the 52,000 mark.very poor,and shows super league to the neutral,as a small-time competition.14 teams and they can only muster that!!we were there yesterday,and the atmosphere within the [uhull [/ufans,just before the game was fantastic,but,15 mins in,and all quiet,as we knew then it was going to be a disaster.we travelled a long way to sample the ''magic'' weekend(we only went for the day,thankfully!!)and to us there was no magic in this event.and to make things even worse,£4 a pint,and £4 a burger

To be fair to the game's administrtors ( which I don't normally do ) Scotland as a nation don't really follow the sports they play. SFA cup semis at Hampden Park hardly fill half of the stadium. The SRU when putting on games other than 6 nations fail to attract full houses. The SFA struggle when their national team play. Why in a month of Sundays would we expect the Scots to turn out in numbers for a game alien to them and played by English and Aussies.

Equally those of you who seem to think Newcastle would be a good venue look at the history there. Gatshead Thunder and Newcastle Falcons hardly set the world on fire. They only watch football there and nothing else will ever take over or for that matter even register with the people of Tyneside.

the rfl continue to play these games in ''outside areas'' to try and widen the game,if you like.it's not going to happen,so why not hold it,if it continues,in an area closer to the traditional ares,a bit more nearer to the clubs concerned,instead of having us travelling all the way up there???
