The point being that a really good ref would ping the first couple of offences, maybe sin bin a persistent offender, and stop the laying on without having to blow up all the time.

You can't just stop enforcing rules because you want the game to 'flow'. And in the case of the ruck it's counter-productive anyway.

its not so much the ref, admitedly most of them are c**p, it the guidelines they are given to follow. its obviously been pushed down from the top to allow laying on, what with all the surrender calls etc we hear. for the first time in quite a while i left early tonight because there is litteraly nothing going on in the games due to the slow play. any new supporters we attracted through the offer tonight will not exactly of had there minds blown will they. bottom line is untill refs are told by cummins or whoever to change it we are going to be stuck with this slow and boring rugby

It's killed a lot of games already this season. Tonight was a pretty dull affair, and it really needn't have been.

i cant believe how slow the ground is at the minute. I play amature n our refs dont give us as long to work the ground as super league refs are. Theres no advantage gained by the big guys like omeley winning the collision anymore because defenders just lay there staring at the ref untill hes gone through the surrender held get up ruetine. Im waiting for the day when a player falls asleep on the guy he tackled

Er Cas(h) last season was a loss by 1 point.

Thaler was poor for this game IMO particularly in the 1st half, the laying on is killing the game as a spectacle but this has come down from Red Hall, obvious offsides at the play the ball were ignored with Thaler just watching the play the ball and not looking to either his left or right, and although I was watching through b&w specs this did actually apply to both sides. Which was better then Terry Halibut last week who blew up every time the Wigan fans raised their voices.

And what happend to the controlled restart? Bradford could well have scored from the one Thaler allowed in the 1st half (I wish they were allowed but the rules changed didn't they?)

Just lets get some clarity, common sense and consistency and we can all enjoy the game we love.

Spot on. I'm also led to believe they're concerned with why they can't increase RL's popularity at both club but especially international level. IMO, step one would be to get rid of Cummins and sort out our officiating once and for all.
