'There aren't many better CVs in the competition than that of Leon and that experience will be great for our young halves like Jordan Rankin, Jordan Abdull and Harry Tyson-Wilson, who can learn from a Grand Final winner and former Super League Young Player of the Year.'
So that's Miller deffo going then

I would expect Miller to go now. He is an out and out scrum half and will be well down the pecking order.
Rankin (who was of course a Radford signing) offers more, especially with his ability to play full back, his pace and his goal kicking and I hope he stays.

Its imperative Rankin stays if we suffer our usual curse of the half backs.

Can't help thinking its an opportunity missed by both him and the club, but his card has been marked by Radders for some time

| I think Miller has played his last game for us, it will be better for us to play the likes of Abdul for our future.
I hope he gets an NRL contract next year and does well, his game will have to improve massively to make an impact on the NRL though.

| I feel a bit sorry for him really. Gentle offered him big bucks and probably a promise of 1st team rugby. Then the coach changes, drops him (correct decision IMO), now finds himself at a club that doesn't want him, across the world from his family and may feel that he has to stay in the UK now as his GF is pregnant with his child.
I hope his Mrs sees sense and goes over to Australia with him!

As she came over from Australia with him I'm sure she'll go back with him!
Clearly it hasn't worked out and the writing was probably on the wall as soon as Gentle got sacked. He may not have been what we were looking for but he tried his best and I for one would like to wish him good luck for his future career.

Does his Mrs even know he has a GF? People should be careful what they put on here, it's not FB or Twitter, after all

None of us really know what goes on behind the scenes and especially in training where the coaches will be monitoring players attitudes.
But the response from Dons fans regarding his lack of commitment speaks volumes i fear.
There was a chance for him to really make a statement but he seems to have done the opposite.

| Even before the signings, I said before the Wakefield game Miller might as well pack up and go home now after one of our U19s got picked in front of him. It hasn't worked out for him or the club which is a real shame , as I wanted him to do well. His future lies somewhere else and I hope it turns out good for him.

| I wouldn't mind miller. Think he's shown glimpses, struggled for consistency, with the right coach could be good and still young. In fact I'd prefer him to gale :/

| Don't know why people keep saying they think Miller is a good player. His signing is on a par with Hitro Okesene or Butch Mavis

| OK I haven't seen much of Miller in an FC shirt this year, only Sky games, but is he that bad??
I saw the lad play a few times at Leichhardt Oval and he looked good, good enough to be picked for a junior Oz team anyway. Clearly it hasn't worked out for him at FC, but with the sacking of Gentle, the fact that hes on the other side of the planet from his family and his obvious drop in form suggests that he just isn't happy at/in Hull. Oh and Radford.........
Maybe a change in coach would help, if a move to Cas is actually on, else I'm sure a team over here would pick him up. Will be interesting to see how he does get on at a different club whether it be in the UK or Oz.
Not sure what him being PG's godson (if true) has got to do with the decision to sign him. I'm sure there were others involved in player recruitment other than PG.
Also can't understand the constant slating of halves who cant tackle. Johnathan Thurston is being called 'Turnstyle' by the NSW press, as his tackling is terrible, but I'm sure most on here would be wetting themselves if we signed him.

| There's a lot saying that Miller is on his way, not wanted etc, the lad has a year left on his contract so why would he just leave, surely you'll have to pay him off in full or he can just sit tight and wait it out on his current wage. Unless he can get an equal wage he surely won't go anywhere, why would he?

Depends how much he wants to play rugby and prove FC wrong?
A year sat tight and not maintaining fitness levels through playing could do more harm than good?

If he can get a severance and another contract then I think he will be off - better for him all round.
Instead of proving us wrong in the future it would have been good to see him prove us right while he was here. I was one that called for him to have a good pre season after thinking he'd been dropped right in it last year then kick on this season. He's had some chances and had they been taken he would be first choice. Fact is he hasn't done anywhere near enough in a key position. If he'd even had a decent kicking game it would have helped the team dramatically.
For sure he's young and has always been spirited and put the effort in but in top level SL in a key position that isn't enough.

I can't remember exactly what games he was given pre-season but he was definitely royally shafted at Fev, put on with the u19s in the second half of a pointless friendly and overwhelmed. I thought that was pretty harsh of Radders
I agree he hasn't covered himself in glory and he's been (IMO) the weakest of our half backs. But he's clearly out of favour anyway so it might be best for all if he's either released and paid off or transferred elsewhere.

Certainly suffered at Fev in the RW game for sure. If you're playing well you're rarely out of favour and I think it would be the best route as you say.

| Jacob comes from a league where halfbacks are developed differently, at 21 he shouldn't have been seen as the one to lead a team. Apart from the exceptionally talented ones, scrum halves don't usually break through until they're 23/24. When NRL clubs do give the young talented ones a chance they're almost always put alongside an experienced partner, in fact I can only think of DCE & Foran at Manly that haven't done it that way and even then DCE was 21 when he debuted and had Matt Orford briefly.
He's been a victim of circumstance for me, we badly need a SH, so bad that the failings of the whole team at times has been blamed on our 7's, from Dykes' injuries to Long being finished to Seymour being cack, despite struggling with mental issues and finally a young Aussie dropped in to a team well before he's ready and lambasted because he's an ex-coaches 'golden boy'.
We're known throughout the league and it's fans as being the 'halfback graveyard' simply because of the pressure we put on them.
Jacob will develop in to a good halfback, you just don't have the junior career he's had without having something. Unfortunately he was expected to be the master when in truth he was still an apprentice. This is why i'm very happy we've signed Pryce to play alongside Sneyd.
