Watts didn't get sent off in an isolated incident. The previous 20 mins were dreadful with both sides coming up with quite brutal tackles.
McIlorum had a swinging arm into his throat from which Wigan went ahead from the pen. The foul play was put on report. Both captains were then warned yet again for the third time. Cummings said at the time of the on report that it wouldn't be long before cards were being shown. It wasn't. If it was an isolated incident Watts might have got away with a yellow, he might not, who knows. In that atmosphere he'd no chance of staying on the field.

If that has any truth to,it, then Hicks is more inept than first thought. A red card cannot be shown for an accumulation of incidents involving other players, that's plain stupid. A red card alters the entire course of a game. There is a have Ge difference between a yellow card following a team warning and a straight dismissal.

At the he time, on full speed replay and slow motion there is no evidence of intention which is the catylist for a red card. This is is a prime example for going on report, so not to destroy it as a spectacle.

Hopefully flanders will be up before the beak for his swinging arm in connor's face that led to him being led from the field. I won;t hold my breath though

Its irrelevant because the decision to red card Watts was taken after consultation with the video ref Bentham and not Solely Hicks thats why whatever we think about the injustice of the sending off Watts will get a ban.
That said cant see any reason the club should not appeal any ban as its likely to be at least 2/4 games

As I pointed out on the VT and linked to the video of the tackle, that was exactly the same thing that got Watts sent off against Catalans earlier this year. the inconsistency is reprehensible putting it politely.

I wonder if there is any legal avenue the clubs can take to force the RFL to sort their excrement out, maybe to CAS (as in not the glassblowers)?

Great news but we lost the game, a critical game, predominantly because we were down on energy in the last ten minutes because we had played a man short since the first half.

We've been robbed again by the officials, after last week and Burrows not getting ten minutes for what was nothing short of an assault on Connor but then being charged afterwards and it happening at a time when we could have gone on to win the game for me at the very least it's just unfair!

Its worrying that the best referee in Super league is Bentham yet it was his call as the video ref that gets Watts sent off and possibly costs us the match.

i think we would have won if watts had stayed on, mcilorum was out for the match, his own fault unfortunate for him, powell nowhere near the hooker mcilorum is plus they would be one interchange down.

So that's three red cards for Watts this season, and two of them have been the wrong call. Seems he's definitely got a target on his back from the referees.

We certainly ran them impressively close with 12, can't say we would have won, but as has been said, it's done now. We've been ripped off by officials too often this season.

Call it a conspiracy if you like, but I believe Liam got off because if they charged him they couldn't have not charged SOL for his assault on Marc. They're bent and we all know it.
