I would say Yeaman, Arundel, Johnson, Galea, Westerman, Pitts for starters......... We lack quality for me and Gentle's recruitment really hasn't helped.

Wouldnt argue with that but Pitts is a good player and is another 1 who didnt warrant dropping

Pitts is probably the most useful player from that bunch, only a squad player though.

Gentle's recruitment has been very disappointing on the whole and it is also very depressing to think that, in an ideal world, our squad needs yet another overhaul if we are to truly compete at the top of SL.

Doesnt look like it after a quick glance...so its his "own" team...cant blame players he inherited from Agar...he got rid of most of them...Mckinnon,Ellis,O'Carroll,Seymour.

Just replied to a post about that...id have kept Aspinwall and Goldie as they both did a damn sight more than some of this yrs signings and that includes Ellis.

I couldn't agree more. I would have kept both Aspinwall and McGoldrick. They offered a damn sight more than most of Gentle's signings.

The only way I think Gentle will get the sack is if we don't make the play offs. Which is starting to get a bit too close for comfort. Whilst I rate him more highly then Agar, its only fair he is judged on results and he isn't getting much better. Personally feel he has had a lot of crap to deal with, long drawn out searches for a half back pairing he wants, no young talent coming through and teething problems with the coaching staff.

That said though I think its fair after the investment to expect better results.

Best post i have read on the subject so far and to those who keep banging on about Wane and Mcdermott being assistants before moving to the top jobs...they had a bloody better youth set up and structure to come into and that eased a lot of injury worries for them plus a few truly word class players,we had none and only have 1 in Ellis...think maybe as well,we punched way above our weight and raised expectations.

At the minute we're like a flabby old heavyweight being battered around but a youthful bantam weight every week

Personally, I don't see pearson sacking gentle. mcrae will likely go and gentle will be given at least the first 1/3 of next season

Possibly but if we lose the semi then at home to widnes then pearson may act as we will be out of the 8 and will dtruggle to get back in.

I agree that is the most likely outcome and, even though a lot of fans will disagree, it might be the most sensible way to go.

I'd add Paul Anderson to that list as well.

All 3 coaches inherited ,structures set in stone ,where the basics are performed & practised at a high standard- when Gentle took charge, I expected he would improve our inadequacies in the basics, but the deficiencies still remain.

Either the players arent receptive, or its Gentle's man-management.

During our losing streak, players such as Johnson & Bowden should've had a go, but havent.

I fear for Gentle's future at our club,- lose next week,could be the end.

Lose heavily to Warrington Pearson will be discussing Gentle's severance pay come Monday morning.

We spent 2 or 3 years giving Agar the first 10 games of the season. The bottom line is results. Adam has provided Gentle with the tools he's requested. He wants a light agile pack and Adam has delivered it. It is proving sadly lacking as a tactic to challenge the best.
The backs have potential and in Crooks and Lineham they are delivering. We have far too many who are regularly injured. Our half backs are still problematic. Horne without doubt the pick, but injured again. DJ has spent more time out than in, and Miller has potential but its not good enough at the moment. It's Gentles team without doubt. But for whatever reason and we can all speculate on that, the squad is not delivering. For me this means bottom line is that its down to coaching.
Financially Adam can not afford to have another dud season of "transition"
Lose next week. Season will be over and so will Gentles time IMHO.

If the game is lost in the coming weekend, and the Widnes one is too, the next one up is the derby - do you think Gentle and McRae will get their marching orders before then? Pearson will almost certainly expect that game to be in the bag and if as some of you suggest the severance will be done before that important game who would coach the team for the visit to Craven Park? Could it be an interim coach for such a vital match?
