Watching a game gives you a much better prespective than listening which is fairly obvious, However listening to a game and then watching the tries is more than enough for someone to form an opinion.

Im glad you have told me that, one of my friends is blind and regularly talks about the previous game during the week. I shall ensure I tell him to be quiet as his opinion does not count anymore.

You can form an opinion on anything whether you know anything about it or not.

As someone who had to make do with commentary and tv for a fair few years when abroad it was pretty normal for me to come to the same opinions of a game as people who attended. I don't think anybody is denying you get a fuller picture of a game especially individual performances when at the game.

A commentator is just passing on his own view of the game and a radio listener is then making his own opinion from the commentators opinion.
