When does his contract run out? With how thin the squad is this year we could see an answer like along the lines of they'll let him continue but his contract will not be renewed or something.

If we had more depth in our squad, the answer would be obvious, but we'll be screwed over if we lose another player.

Personally, I'm struggling to feel sympathy for someone who is paid to do what I and I'm sure most on here, and probably at least 15,000 others on last seasons figures would love to be good enough to do. In fact, even without pay, being able to pull on a Black & White shirt each weekend would be enough for me to learn to say 'No thanks, I'm not drinking'.

I agree. My comparison would be Mick Crane. He had baggage (although it was also the amateur era), but was so good it was tolerated. Let's put it into perspective: In 30 years' time would any of us be expecting to be talking in the same awe-struck tones about Tansey as folk still do of Crane?

A: Know the season is coming up and decide just to have soft drinks.

B: If he actually had a brain and knew he was in trouble with the club he would think 'Drinking now isn't a good idea'.

I mainly agree. Some rarities can still produce the goods though, but they have to be special players and continually do so to even consider any leniency. Tansey's good, but not that good IMO.

He has stuck two fingers up to the club's hierarchy, after the warnings
he has been issued with.

Irrespective, of his talent, or the club's lack of squad depth,
he should be dismissed according to the club's disciplinary terms ,and contract terms.
