yep, i dont like the idea of having someone like obst an oldish aussie on a decent wage so far down the pecking order rather have a couple of young players on full time deals

Watched quite a bit of NRL on Premier Sports recently and Heremaia looks a much better signing than McKinnon. He's good out of dummy half and has a good kicking game which is something we've been crying out for. The problem with McKinnon is I don't think he'll offer much more than Phelps does. I hope I'm wrong.

your right about heremia will be really good to us and give us a totally diffrent dimension from dummy half and mckinnon i feel will act as another pivot for us and hopefully him, seymour annd horne can link up well and stay injury free because we will be a very much better attacking team

Dont know wether its been finalised about fitzy going home ,but a mate of mine in the exporting business as been asked to quote a price to send fitzy's gear back to Oz .

Fitz wont be here next season - he will be retiring, hopefully a wembley appearance will be the icing on the cake as far as his playing career goes

Craig Fitzgibbon is DEFINATELY retiring and going home at the end of this season. This is from a very reliable source who has spoken to him. He has been an asset to our club one of the few players who come here gives 110% every game, is totally proffessional on and OFF the field. has passed on some of his great wealth of knowledge to the junior players and has been a fantastic role model for all the younger players. He has been a LEGEND we don't get many of those at FC unfortunately. I would like to thank him for all he has done here at Hull FC and wish him a happy and well earned retirement. Agreed. Fitzgibbon has been a great signing and his professionalism has been a breath of fresh air. He's not a Hull FC "legend" though, that word is bandied about far too much and it should be reserved for the likes of Knocker, Sullivan and Whiteley.

indeed, there hasn't been a Hull FC legend (in the true terms) for 20 years+, Steve Prescott is an RL legend, not for what he did at FC, but certainly for what he has done since.

Seconded. I'd say legends are the players you see yourself comparing all future players in that position against, and telling stories about the things they did in awed tones to your kids/grandkids. Swain is that bloke, with the moment I'll never tire of telling being the determination and effort to charge down that Sinfield drop goal attempt after 80 minutes of non-stop work and leadership. That won us the cup every bit as much as Cooke's drop of the shoulder, Bai's moment of madness, Brough's drop goal, and McMenemy's kick downfield for us to retrieve the ball.

Hell of a day though, wasn't it? Me & the old man were just about in tears one minute, jumping up and down hugging the next. Made the long trip back a lot more bearable, even the service station food seemed nice.

Tell me about it. I had my head in my hands (moaning about another loss) when PC scored and I missed it. The last few minutes seemed like a life time, as the hooter went I just sat blubbering at the wife and kids, Just like any other Saturday.
