The lack of recruitment rumours in the forwards is quite irritating.

Whilst i know its frustrating i`m sure Adam and James are busy in the player movement market, you never get a lot of rumours about Hull signing players in the press because they seem to keep their business close to their chest, hopefully in the next month we will find things out, i just hope were not disappointed as Adam has built all our expectations up a bit with his interview earlier in the month

He certainly has built up some optimism in "that" interview.

I just hope that we (Agar) haven't put too much of our salary cap into strengthening the the backs/pivots because even with one decent forward coming in, we could look a bit threadbare in the pack and our season could easily be written off by as little as a couple of key injuries to the pack.

Any optimism i had from Pearson taking over is dissapearing now because knack all has happened for a month. Its like the old regime is still in charge tbh.

I suppose it's just a case of trusting him on his word and waiting for September/October.

You've given up on him after one whole month in charge? He's said any number of times that things will kick off in October and that will be the time to start judging his intentions IMO. Not to mention that the anti-tampering deadline hasn't passed so we can't sign anyone from within SL yet - or at least we can't announce any signings at any rate.

in fact, it should make us feel less concerned, anyone who has been signed by SL clubs has been told by their old club that they are surplus to requirements, so IF we are signing anyone they are obviously either a) wanted by their existing club (meaning they are a player of some quality) or b) playing for club involved at Wembley or c) playing for a club likely to be challenging in the playoffs.

so, the fact we haven't announced signing etc since Pearson arrived is a positive to me, it means we're not signing the players on the periphery of the game.

Pretty much how I see it also. I understand why people are anxious to see some movement on the squad front and some 'real' changes to go along with the ambitions expressed in interviews, but doing things right takes time.

I guess a 3/4 and/or a big forward would be the priority - it's hard to imagine who would both make you go whoopee-do and be realistically obtainable. You must have got Heremaia an exemption for a reason - but the days of really top NRL players coming over are meant to be gone. I don't think any of England's pack would be available and their 3/4s might not quite represent the statement of intent some seem to expect.

Maybe it is the coach who will be the big name?

we don't know, as yet, or for subsequnt years. One thing is for certain, we won't be troubling Sheffield Eagles for them.

Taulapapa however is bizarre at best. Sheffields worst import ability wise, and seems to combine this with a poor attitude....

Couldn't agree more. Richard Moore is the perfect example of this, Leeds have already announced his signing. I would have been disappointed if we had signed him, not a bad player but I like to think we will be searching for a prop/s (and a centre) who will attract some fans back to the KC.
