Do people seriously think that those who cause trouble at games do so because they are drunk? I reckon that its only a small minority of the minority that cause trouble do so because of alcohol. Those who want to cause trouble at games will go to them regardless of the kick off time. How can people praise the atmosphere at most of the derby games and highlight the lack of trouble at them, and then act like the world is coming to and end when its moved to a Saturday at 6pm?
Now its been moved, I will be drinking all day at home most of the day with a few mates round, going to the game, and then probably off to a BBQ afterwards. It won't turn me into a hooligan, and I can bet it wont turn 99.9% of others who do the same into hooligans either. I will bet with anyone that no major trouble happens because for one it hardly ever does, and for two the police will have a massive force there unfairly fleecing Rovers.

The more people talk up yhe likelyhood of likely trouble the more the idiot element of our city will turn up looking for a bit of sport. Just look at what happened at warrington due to speculation...

I for one don't really blame anyone for not coming to our ground due to the poor facilities in the south stand or the price charged to go in there (think this is petty and embarrassing and should be about a tenner).

What I do object to is the constant talk of all the trouble we have at our matches, I've been to every game this year, home and away and apart from one idiot getting thrown out of the last home game I have yet to see any bother at any match. Yes we get the odd gob e whos mouth runs away with him and should be told to shut up by the stewards but this is the same in any ground.

People say ours is the only ground they feel uneasy in, well we could say ditto, most of thisis due to the preconcieved ideas that we are going to kill each other which as the last poster said is the rarety rather than the rule.

At the last derby we had the whole of chav corner abusing us all game, one guy running down the gangway doing throat slitting motions to us whilst stood next to a steward but even this is all bravado and when the gates opened at the end he was very sheepishly making his way through the throngs.

Less of this talk would greatly reduce the likelyhod of violence and a bit of self policing by both sets of fans would stamp it out almost altoghether.

Suppose the best way to look at it is, yes we hate you lot, but we don't really hate you lot, if that makes sense....

Wont even bother trying to get a Golf stand ticket now, certainly wasn't going to bother getting a South Stand ticket anyway. I do think the amount of alcohol consumed will be a factor and some trouble will occur (especially if its a hot day) but nothing like the scale of last time.

I'm more fed up of the way these matches keep getting moved. Off the top of my head I make it 6 now for us. Can't plan a damn thing with my shift rota when they keep doing this. But, I suppose it's the same old story, (SKY) money talks.

Went to the Leeds Bradford game last night. If this was a derby the atmosphere on and off the field was terrible. No passion, no guts, no desire .... and that's just the fans. Do Hull people realise, in all seriousness, just how lucky we are to have such a fantastic spectacle as OUR derby matches. Yet, despite this, there are so many negative comments from both sides. I go to support my side .... and after last night it is a privilege to do so. Sod comments about "I'm not giving my money to the other team" .... "the ground is rubbish/has no atmosphere/is a football ground really etc etc" Twice a year there is the chance to sample REAL atmosphere .... After last nights fiasco I really can't see why anyone would want to miss this. We don't know how lucky we are until it disappears..... and then it's too late.
