I'm hardly getting carried away. No predictions of impending Doom here apart from my somewhat TIC change of Avatar. But last night showed that we still haven't addressed some fundamental issues around attitude. I listened to Hull FC Live's coverage and even Gaz Ellis said that the squad had forgotten everything that had been said in the run-up to the game.
You know I always try to keep a positive outlook but I'm just getting ground down by he constant repetition of the same old faults.

Tbh im livid. To buy new half backs, be told this team will be different etc then to be served up the same old rubbish has seriously annoyed me to the point that if the team cant be d then i cant either so will give the Leeds game a miss now and save £100 in the process
For me Radford got it all wrong last night with the pack, the bench was way too light, they had Morley on the bench, we had Green - says it all. Feka needs to play next week as does Bowden and he aint even that good. Id find a way of somehow bringing another bad ass forward in as this is where we are seriosuly lacking. Even Lauaki is a better player than Green and he plays in the division below

Im sorry my opinion is different to yours,it seems I must be wrong. The huddersfield game was a good result, imo not a great performance against a team who played awful, warry was a tough hard battle which imo was a better performance than huddersfield and could have gone either way, perhaps we were a tad unlucky. Last night was awful as I posted earlier, and what I omitted in my previous post was lineham is unrecognisable from the player of 2 years ago,I think the injury has took more of a toll on him than we know.Sorry if thats a bit more doom and gloom as you put it,and iam sure you'll disagree, but thats what these forums are about isnt it. Warrington were always the better side in that game and di enough to win without breaking a sweat, if we'd of won it would of been unfair imo

You've missed the point. You only take the trouble to post when it's negative. That's up to you, but very telling, IMO.

| I'd love to know what this magical 'attitude' is that stops other teams being better than us.
We got caught cold at the start and conceded 3 tries down our left side, it was absolute pi$$ poor defence. Attitude is just a buzz word that masks deficiencies in player's individual games.

It isn't magical, it's about knowing what make people tick, what to do when and how to deal with X scenario at any given point. you've obviously no experience in the field but what the top sportspeople do, what professional outfits do is ensure that the mental attitude and how people react is part of their fundamental setup.
I explained this in hard factual detail after the 'show a DVD to the lads and say nowt approach' that went on in Portugal and I got barracked. it's exactly that type of unprofessional way of doing things that I was worried about and last night is a classic example of players just not able to get into the mindset/do their individual tasks straight from the kick off and indeed throughout the game..
It isn't rocket science to figure out but instilling it is something that professionals should be doing.

It's really not. Every single player in that team can tackle, defence is 99% attitude. We looked lethargic, our line speed was poor, we allowed quick play the balls constantly. If everyone has these glaring deficiencies then how do we only concede 1 try in 2 games?
Were you at the game last night? The first try Thompson scored, in front of the Hull fans. He was never going to be stopped, you could see the determination on his face, it was as if his life depended on it. That's what we need from everyone for us to compete at the highest level, and we saw very little of it last night.

I agree with this point although I think it's fair to say that the top players approach every game mentally correctly whereas the players with less ability don't. That is a deficiency in the lesser players in its own right and backs up your point.
Defence in the first 20 cost us the match around the ruck and to our left side. Salford were enthusiastic (credit to them) and we were passive almost to the point of being lazy. We've defended like demons for two games then we decide 'not today thanks' and defend like a park team. This was all before the Chase magic that appeared later - that should have been a side show.
In attack we were fine - if you include the Lineham no try that seems should have been given then we scored 30 odd points - the 28 we did score should be more than enough to win a SL game. Pryce in particular looks dangerous more or less whenever the ball is in his hands. In my opinion there are still three or four players in the team last night that aren't good enough particularly in the area of back up prop and back up second row (and I'm clearly not referring to Thompson).
On the Ellis debate - when he doesn't play we have no one anywhere near his level to take his place - that's why he is our biggest loss when absent.

Congratulations on spectacularly missing the point. All 3 of their first half tries came down Hadley's side, where Ellis would have played. You can't fault Hadley's attitude, he's just not as good a player as Ellis is.
There's players in the lower leagues who have the right attitude, they've just not got the ability.
You also can't blame attitude when Rangi's throwing worldies out.

The first try was laziness by Hadley. Nothing to do with the ability he has and hasn't got. He was too slow to come inside and left a gaping hole for Walne to run through. This can be excused as fatigue with 10 minutes to go, after 3 minutes it is simply him not switching on and pulling his weight. The second try came from an offload. I'm not sure who was involved in the tackle, but again it's early in the game and we need to make more effort to stop it. The third can be attributed to a few things, but we made a three man tackle and somehow they were able to play the ball quick with men still on the floor and caught us not set. Again the guys in the tackle need to do more to boss that ruck and get them playing the ball on our terms. Every player in that team knows how to do all of these things, and they do it countless times every game. It's not an ability thing, it's being mentally prepared and being willing to put in that extra effort.

| Wondered how long it would be before radders got the blame ,we were beat by the magical play from Chase ,should we have handled him better ? i dont think so ,when he is in that mood he is very hard to predict and if he had not played we would have won,one man dont make a team ? it did last night. Its annoying when fans never give the opposition credit and just look for negatives in our own side. Yes some of ours were not the best but i have seen them play far worse

I would argue that being prepared and willing to put in extra effort adds to a player's overall ability.

| Why didn't Radford take off Sa earlier in the second half he couldn't raise his arm to tackle. Salford saw this and they ran two tries through him, by the time he moved Whiting over it was to late.
Very frustrating last night.

| How long did whiting play, stats say he made no carries and 6 tackles. Radford did this a few times last year, rarely one sub.
This season already reminds me of last year, a good first win then a battling defeat followed by poor form, need to prove over the next few weeks we have improved from last year. No game management excuse this year.

Game management wasn't an issue whatsoever. just weak defence early on.
Whiting came on well into the second half - wasn't on long then hurt his hand.
