Whats that got to do with it?
Just because there is a running track behind the Etihad doesnt mean that is the reason fro only 2 EPL titles.

The club is a joke and imo getting back to being a community could be achieved in our own smaller ground. The KC is possibly now a massive hinderence to any progress. Players probably think they've reached the big time just because they play in it (or that's how it seems) even if its now less than half empty for the majority of games these days
'"
I hate it when away players now say their fave away game is at the KC, yes because theres no atmosphere to put them off.
Yet at Boulevard it was everyones least fave away ground to play on.

| Would love or own ground and although I think 16000, would be better I'd wouldn't complain in someone was going to build us a 14K ground.
Not going to happen as the cost to build this stadium would be huge and who foots the bill.

| European Grants, Allam would have to pay our 35 year lease out and council will chip in. We pay the SMC 600K a year and I got told even a loan would only be 400 k a year so we would be better off.

We averaged that amount only a few season back. It's not enough. It would be accepting mediocrity, something you bang on about a lot, into perpetuity. If we are to ever fulfil the potential, then 20000 capacity is a must.

Yes we should be aiming for the sort of gates that Wigan and Leeds can achieve.
We wouldn't ever get 20,000 on a regular basis, but there will be occasions during the season when 14,000 is nowhere near enough.
I would be very surprised if AP would be content with a 14,000 capacity stadium.

Is there any truth in this rumour at all?

its nothing to do with a lack of ambition, its seeing things for how they really are. even if we do turn things around and this ground was to be built, I don't see us getting anywhere near 20k.
as I said above, 15k, with space to expand to about 18k would be enough...

Thirteen since 2006. Nine derbies, the Bradford play off semi in 2006, the Wigan play off in 2007, Leeds in 2010 and Warrington in 2011.
Anyway there is nothing to suggest this is anything more than another silly rumour.

Unbelievable stats for the play off games, wonder why play offs really struggle to get decent crowds?

The Wigan play off (16,291) and especially the Bradford one (16,087) are exactly why talk of a 14k stadium are unambitious. They are the sort of occasions and attendances we should be aiming for.
The Leeds and Warrington games were the last matches of the regular seasons - again these can be vital games and we have proved we can pull in big crowds.

| 15k would be ample for the time being. It's going to take a while to build back up to a 14k average, so plenty of time to expand after that.
I would LOVE to see a terraced touch line stand again. A return to the Threepenny days. A ground similar to Wire's would be fantastic. If they do it like Saints/Salford/Leigh then it wouldn't be (end terraces).
Not going to happen, but boy it would be great!
I also think Pearson Park would be better location wise for pre/post match (and the name!) but access would be a nightmare!

okay, it is beyond the fringes of the residential area of the city and not within walking distance for a large majority of fans based around the West Hull area. There is also very limited bus services..basically it' difficult to access.
As for the poster talking about funding from europe, we won't get anything from that or Sport England as we have a perfectly good stadium already..in times of austerity it just isn't going to happen, who would want to lend a mid-table team tens of millions of pounds in the first instance..

| If we're gonna dream about getting a new stadium, let's go all out! How about have it as part of the Quay West extension? Slap bang in the middle of town. 4G pitch so they can have a market on it during the day and use it all year round. Shopping centre goes around it. Car park underneath. 7 days a week free advertising from shoppers able to look into the stadium. Best public transport access going. Bars everywhere. Potential sponsors on every corner.
Boom. Easy stuff! May cost a few (hundred!) million to build, but would generate that eventually!

Like this better than your Pearson Park idea .
In fact, I like it a lot! Incorporate it into the dockside and old town redevelopment scheme. They were already considering an amphitheatre on one of the old dry dock sites, why not go they whole hog and include our stadium? The fishing theme fits with the history and culture of our club, replace your shopping centre with galleries, museums and studios. Keep the bars and restaurants in your plan... it would be the most civilised and cultured stadium in League! And a most fitting project to be included in Hull 2017.
Right. How much will Allam cough up?
