We don't know the issues but plenty of players have had issues at clubs and then gone elsewhere and flourished, who is to say Gleeson can't do the same no matter where he goes.



He is a quality centre but the question is does he still want to play and commit himself, if the answer is yes then he would be a good signing.

As you rightly point out Paul , we don't know the issues involved and maybe a change of club is the best for him , but there must be question marks about a player who can't fit in with a regime that has propelled Wigan to being SL Champions.

Don't forget this is the guy who sulked his way through his time at Warrington because he didn't want to be there (although still regularly showed his class).

If, as has been mentioned, Gleeson is fixed up for next year and is just coming here until the end of the season then it's a decent move IMO. If however it's for beyond this season, then you can hang your hat on his best mate Long getting an extension which would be a disgrace.

Before we brand decision's a disgrace we do need to remember that the Gleeson thing is just a rumour and the likelyhood of Long staying beyond this season is very unlikely.



Plus Gleeson could easily stay next season without Long being there, he has managed not to play in the same side as him for a number of years now.

I'd be ok with him training with us, to let both parties see if it could work out.

Didnt sound from his interview that a deal was what he was looking for. If he has got an NRL deal from 2012 it might be best for Gleeson to just chillax for the rest of the season and get his head right for the pressures of the NRL.
