I like Moa but I thought he struggled a little last night. He made one or two decent carries but got targetted badly in defence.

It's a shame that people can only appreciate good play by a forward if it comes in the form of a tackle bust or big hit. Cusack's control of the ruck both with and without the ball is spot on and is just as imortant as someone knocking a defender flying, probably more so. Very good tacker and always dictates the speed of the play the ball, yet penalties conceded by him are like rocking horse 5h1t. When he takes the ball in he always finds his knees and elbows which allows him to play it quickly. Whilst it's exciting to see someone riving around and fighting for that last metre, in reality all it's doing is allowing the defence to get set. You need a mixture of the two.

Totally agree about Cusack top forward which is why his NRL career spells out his ability. Moa did OK and we didn't miss Radford at all. That said I would play Radford next week. It's called strength in depth.

But he did say that were Yak unavailable we would not be weakened by playing Sam in his place.

Big fan of Cusack myself so agree with you. Sam is good cover and I'll guarantee you that we will be without one if not two props over a 25+ league game season and this is why our pack strength in depth is crucial. Sam is good enough quality to contribute to this squad game.

I agree Sam is quality I am not disagreeing there, I just find Cusack brings more to the team, thats all. our pack will be the key to our (hopefully) success.

Based upon the way other players have advanced there game this season, I have been disappointed that the yak hasn't.

Yes, hes doing ok....buts that the problem, in my opinion we need to try Moa in that position in order to assess (and not after 1 game) wether or not big sam can bring more to the party?

How else as a team are we going to get stronger if we dont give fringe players the opportunity to show there worth?

And for other forum members who throw the cheap rovers shots at me....Grow up this is a an adult discussion.

The guy has been at the club for a good while now and all parties will surely know what he brings to the table, they see him in training every day. Maybe he just is always going to be a fringe player but like a few have said, he will get a chance somewhere down the line.

The only way forward is to give players game time. Based upon last seasons game time, he deserves his chance, while else sign him.

A pack has to work together and has to have balance. Lauaki, Manu, O'Meeley can't do what they do without the likes of Yak, Radford and Dowes, also Berro can't do his job without the pack going forward and trying to ptb quickly.

IMO we have great balance to our pack.

but however as the rest of us seem to have grasped thus far, there is only 13 at one time allowed onto the field and usually those with more to offer get picked first, however should FC change into a gridiron team overnight i am sure you will see Sam get a starting spot as a lineman!!

remember that Cussack is reported to be leaving at the end of the year so how better to bring an unknown "project" through and get him fit than a decent season learning the game from SOO and grand final class players!!

If you look at the stats, Yak is performing just as well as Radders and Dowes, I can't understand why your calling for Yak to be dropped. Just cos Dowes and Radford have improved their game to the standard of Yak and he's stayed consistant, this doesn't mean he should be dropped.

I can't understand the mentality of the Moa lovers on here, yes he's a good prospect and runs hard but he has nothing on our first choice props at the moment and is always going to be a back up player.

TBH I have seen nothing from Sam to even suggest he was worth a new deal.

I think that's unfair. He's had some good performances and will be a useful impact prop when he gets some regular game time.

I think he's being pretty much ineffective IMO.
